Skiing in the US is such a hostile experience. Everyone should chill the fuck out. About everything. This sport is about sliding on snow and not falling, not that fucking complicated or difficult to do without pissing each other off.

I never saw an encounter like the ones I do in the US during the 6 years I was skiing in Europe. It's definitely a cultural thing.

At first I was like, "Damn, what a douche for spraying a random old guy" and then when the random old guy said, "YOU DON'T SPRAY PEOPLE! I SKI MORE THAN YOU!" I was like, "Damn, he sprayed the right guy".

That kid should get 20 Epic points for getting away. That was incredible. Although I think he is a bit of a pussy for not jumping off the lift partway up instead. We know it can be done as Dozer showed us in Clownschool's FUCK! edit.

idk why you are getting flamed, you're just bringing up a fair point that is extremely accurate. Ive seen grown men call women(in front of their kids mind you) cunts and whores for "cutting" them off in the lift line at places like Snowbird, even seen a few fights at some places in the lift line, all over just some fresh fucking pow turns. Its an entitlement issue for sure but people have a ton of issues unresolved that boil over in such silly situations like skiing, its pretty cringeworthy to watch. The hustle and bustle of resorts, especially during peak times, is when it happens the most. Families spend a ton to go on a ski trip and one minor thing just pisses off dad and he unloads on someone, its shitty but its how it is sometimes.


Id say both of these guys are in the wrong, a total heat-of-the-moment miscalculation on both parts. A mountain employee should never try to get physically involved with someone like that and the "my shit dont stink" skier kid trying to outrun speed patrol could have handled the situation way better too. Keep the camera rolling, see whats up, and if the speed police are clearly in the wrong, you can hold it against them cuz you have it on footage if they try to detain you or something.

Why people who are clearly in the wrong doing something get all pissy when they get busted is something that is hard to understand. Bullshit overpolicing aside at resorts, its pretty much common sense to not get a target on your back. Stop with this rebellion bullshit and just slowdown in slow skiing areas. Not that hard to figure out.

It seems like anyone respectful enough to stop for slow patrol should get off easy. Anyone who is actually a douche will just outrun the yellow jackets easily and suffer zero consequences. Seems like a very inequitable and arbitrary system. As someone who skis with a snowboarder, boarders definitely get unfairly targeted more by the crotchety old men in yellow.

mountain safety should be totally in the hands of ski patrolers and mountain operations guys that know first hand about safety and the way the mountain should flow
really seems contrary to the whole hospitality customer service model to have these rental cops harassing the customers

Only yellow jacket I’ve seen all year was a kid no older than 25 at Nstar.




I didn’t talk to him about work on the chair ride. Kirkwood was way too understaffed to have them.


Just make turns in those areas they only chill where multiple trails funnel.

Upon watching the whole video, it just makes me cringe. The kid was a dick for spraying the guy, and he shouldve apologized, but the guy with the camera and the yellow jacket employee were both overreacting and making too big a deal about it. But the kid made himself look guilty by running away. All 3 of these clowns should be embarassed.

I got stopped by a yellow jacket once at Key a few years back. I just stopped and talked to him and all was good. Still dumb that they exist but be respectful when talking to them and you shouldn't have a problem.

Now on the spraying conversation. It's a spray or get sprayed world out there. Night time especially. I don't condone it, but I have done it for sure, and I have gotten sprayed. It's part of the game.

The camera dude is a megapuss if its snowing he'd get snow in the face anyway and you'd think the patrol guy would have better things to deal with. The sprayer did the right thing by not getting on the chair cause it's a long way down if things get ugly but the sprayer technically started the whole dumb thing.
