OregonDeadSeems kinda dumb to me. Wouldn't you have to get new bindings for your pow skis if you bought WTR boots? I don't think I'd spend money for something that's just designed to improve my performance walking in the parking lot.
mystery3It's kind of meant to improve performance on bootpacks and rocky traverses. I'm sort of in the same boat as OP, I'm looking to mount the shift on a new pair of skis and I have the non-AT attacks on my other skis. I think I'm going to swap boot soles when swapping skis at least for the time being.
Don't the pivot dual work with both?
OregonDeadWTR is different than regular AT boots. Seems like it's more for people that hang around the base area in their boots than for mountaineers. The ISO 9523 boots look more like they're designed for hiking on rocks etc.
If I were to get a lighter boot for the uphill I'd get one of the ISO 9523 boots and then if I wanted could use them with my wardens or another MNC binder for inbounds set ups. Right now I have the Pinnacle 130 boot which has tech inserts and a regular alpine norm sole so I can use any binding. It's a heavy boot though so I've been thinking about this ..
CLQI didn't realize they made a boot that has tech inserts that isn't WTR. Thanks for the help!

OregonDeadYou can also get tech inserts added to any alpine boot. https://casttouring.com/products/ski-boot-conversion
CLQIs it worth it to get a WTR boot and binding? It seems kinda fucking dumb but I want to know what you guys think. I already have non-wtr pivots on my powder ski. Getting new bindings for my Kartel 108s.
