Evo Ski Package

So I am looking at QST 99s and have not decided on bindings yet. The main bindings I’m looking at are the Salomon STH2 WTR, Look SPX Duals, and Tyrolia Attack 13s. Evo is offering package deals for the QST with the STH2s and the SPXs. Should I consider these options or should I look at bindings and skis separate from eachother

Post a link so we can see. I know people here prefer tyrolia attack 13 second to pivots but spx are great too. The price matters so let's see

It looks like a good price for either binding, more so the sth, especially if mounting is included. I have to ask why the QST 99?

I want a ski that can float on pow but still Handel well when the snow isn’t so good and the QST sounds like a great all mountain ski

I'm trying hard to quell my urge to dissuade you, and I read the blister review on the QST 99. Can I ask what other skis you've looked at or skied and enjoyed?

If you like the QST 99, by all means go ahead and buy it. Here it is with Attack 13s for $599 but 10% off right now so $540 mounted and shipped.

I’m still in high school so I’ve not gotten much opportunity to gain experience buying and using skis. Last season I bought some older heavily used Vantage Series Atomic 76s (cant remember the name exactly right now) and I disliked them because I couldn’t keep up with my pow hound friends. So I looked at all mountain skis because the likelyhood of me being able to catch some deep powder every day was unlikely and I came across the QST 99. That being said, I more than welcome you to list some suggestions. I’m 5’9 170 lbs. and I prefer off-piste and no Park.

QST 99 isnt a 'cool' ski per say, but I've seen a few really good riders on them. I'd say go for it, but I'd never buy a pair myself. More because I like searching for awesome looking topsheets

Yeah they seemed like sort of a disregarded/underrated ski, but I don’t really know much.
Plus I like the look of the top sheet

Depending on where you live you could maybe even get by with something a little wider as a daily driver but with that said looks like a good cheap purchase

I live on the west coast and I’m toying with the idea of the QST 106 package but I doubt I’ll go up to the 118

If you’re on the west coast I would most likely consider the 106 over either granted you are a somewhat skilled skier. Definitely not the 118. The 106 will help later on and be better for pow while still holding an edge granted you can ski a little bigger ski.

Just looked at it and it seems mostly positive. They hinted at it being better suited for powder and lighter snow, which is what I plan on skiing. I am looking through the skis you suggest (thank you very much for suggesting them) and still have yet to make the final decision. I decided to cut myself free from one particular mountain and just go where the snow goes this season ( so probably lookout pass).

Is the ARV 106 that much more than the QST 106?

I'd just rather have a more "twin" ski personally. As I imagine most people on this forum would agree.

99 is too small for the West coast. I don't think 118 is a terrible idea

Hey man, I ride the arv 116 and love them. I only was able to get a few days in kn them this year but they're dope. That arv 106 with griffon bindings package for only 600 bucks is what i would go with it. If I wasnt trying to save money I'd almost be tempted to buy it. The invictus is more of a lighter stiffer ski geared towards touring. If you want to get playful and have a good all mountain charger go with the arv.

They're just different types of skis so it would depend on how you ski and what you're looking to do as to which is better.

Also as to your question about the Marker Griffon, I think most on here will agree it's a perfectly decent binding with Look Pivots and Tyrolia (also rebranded as Head, Elan, 4frnt, and others) Attacks the preferred bindings.

I love mine like I said. It all depends on the terrain you plan on skiing the 116 will charge everywhere and anything but the 106 will allow you to maybe hit the whole mountain up and be a little more comfortable.

Twins with awesome topsheets are what's cool on NS.

OP check out some of the skis with wolves on them.

As a tall skier I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am that the skis i got in the 194 length have reduced twin tip. I'll see if it affects switch riding at all

IME skis with rocker or partial twins are fine for switch riding.
