Replying to School me on tech toes and binding compatibility

Please educate me on the ins and outs of bindings and boot compatibility.

I'm planning to mount up some shifts in the next couple of months and was researching tech toe inserts for my current boots, Salomon Quest Max 120, which I may or may not replace.

Do I understand correctly that running the tech toes precludes my from using non-wtr, or grip walk bindings?

My ARVs are set up with the original Attack 13s, not the newer Attack2 GW. Is the mounting pattern the same for the Attack and Attack2?

What are my best options?
