PartyBullshiitI have the Countach 110. I know that Tyler from moment use to ski the CT in front of Rec and moved back to rec because the ski performs better there. I’ve been told the same about the 104. Check out fasas video on why moment says stay with rec.
@elinde I think
@PartyBullshiit is referring to a specific countach video -- I tried to find it to link, but I couldn't. If you find the video, I think what you might gather is that trying to move the mount further and further forward to chase similarity with your wc101 might bite you in the ass because you are going to change the way the back of the ski performs
Ultimately though, its really up to you to decide what you want out of the ski and to mount based on that. This whole "moment recommend recommended for a reason" really deprives the conversation of any nuance. For the majority of skiers somewhere near rec will be best. But, its up to you to figure out if you actually want the same things that most skiers want (or if you care about the issues that moving the mount forward presents). FWIW I know a bunch of people on WC101's at true center or +1 from center and they wouldn't have it any other way. Granted, the countach may be a bit of a different beast because its more directional (hence the value of watching that video)
To speak to your experience directly, going from a near center mounted ski to a directional ski is visually jarring for anyone. So, just because it looks weird right now doesn't mean the ski wont be perfect for you there. But, just know that this ski is different from your wc101 and the visual difference is an indication of that.
