vermontanaWell its too hot out and dreaming of pow days, its time to replace my beat pow touring sticks and add some Deathwish Tours to the quiver, stuck between 184 and 190. Other sticks are from 183 park skis to 188 commander 108s.

I have 185 blizzard zerog 95s as my big day/spring touring sticks, so was leaning towards 190 DWTs for meadow skipping floatability when avy conditions are sketch. I've heard they ski a bit short too w the deep rocker lines. @hot.pocket or anyone else have opinions?

SavageBiffI ski both the commander 188 and dw 190 , I’d say get the 190 or your gonna feel like it’s really short

ButteredToast.Really struggling to pick between the DW104 and Wildcat 101.

I currently ski the regular Deathwish 184cm in the Midwest (I know, ridiculous). Originally got it for trips out west but kinda loved it so much I was just always skiing it.

Looking for something narrower that’s faster edge to edge for ripping groomers. I ski switch quite a bit, like to open up the throttle and lay huge ass GS trenches, and can often be caught popping off of moguls and side hits. I like my speed. I like my heavy G forces in hard ass hip-grazing carves.

hot.pocketI'd lean towards the DW104 for what you're describing. We designed it to be a midwest / east coast Deathwish, and I think you'll appreciate the extra edge grip and confidence it'll give you on the icy groomers. Still plenty playful for popping moguls and side hits, while definitely handling hip-grazing carving a bit better than the WC101.

Originally I went 184 because I knew I skied fast and would want the float for powder. Thought it would ski a tad long but it feels ok.

If I don’t really plan on hitting powder on the 104 (just slush blasting) should I size down to the 179 or just go with what I know?

I would recommend going with the 179 for the 104. It's a bit stiffer than the 112 and I think the 179 length will still be plenty stable for you for what you're looking to use it for.

ButteredToast.Grest point. With the 179 at a 21m radius instead of 22m on the 184 that’ll probably create more variety between my two pairs. Making the OG Deathwish the obvious choice for deep/variable/sloppy days and the DW104 the obvious choice for hard days when I just wanna snap some turns.

Nate5BWas thinking of picking up a pair of 184cm Wildcat Tours w/ some Cast Free Tours for the upcoming season. I currently ski 21/22 184cm Wildcat 108's as my daily drivers and I was hoping that the Tours could fill the roll of both touring skis & resort powder skis while still skiing semi-similarly to my current setup. With all that in mind, I am around 6'2 & 165lbs (I know, time for a bulk) so I was considering opting for 190cm's over sticking with the 184cm's since they would ideally be skied in deeper snow and the extra length & width might be nice for float in deeper snow. Would I be fine sticking with the 184cm length? or would the difference in float be significant enough that I'd want to opt for the longer ski?

Side Note: The whole package of Skins, Skis, Bindings, & Poles is pretty pricey, so I was considering going for last years Blem Wildcat Tours on Skiburger and shaving off a couple hundred from the total. Anyone have experience with the Blem skis? How significant / noticeable are the Blemishes? is it worth the $300 more to get the normal ones?

BigPurpleSkiSuitIf you're touring, go with the 184. It'll be easier to maneuver when you're tired.

SavageBiffThey have excellent customer service, probably the best, E mail or hit them in chat they’ll answer your ?s about the blem, I’d say def worth it, they’re structurally perfect and saving you $ which seems important to you, your gonna scuff if anyway if you don’t, maybe you don’t deserve em… 😏
I’d go with the 190s especially at your height for float and stability, the 184s would probably serve you just as well if you wanna prioritize maneuverability, if you can’t maneuver the 190s get better
I’d cop them before they’re gone, your gonna enjoy them

SkiWiedmerI don't want to take away from a sale to Moment, love those guys and I have bought plenty from them. (From main site and SkiBurger)
But I think there are some used setups for sale on the NS site right now. I was browsing a little bit ago. Not sure if they were the tour model or the regular layup. But if you are not doing huge tours, the regular layup would be a blast all around. I rock the 190 WC with Shifts on short pow day laps.

Generally we do not recommend putting Cast on our touring lineup. This is our stance for a few reasons:

1. The heavy setup of Cast negates a lot of the weight savings of going with a tour model.
2. A lightweight tech binding like the Voyager provides plenty of power transfer and stability for touring conditions.
3. Split use or 50 / 50 setups typically see significantly more resort than touring.

I would recommend either going Wildcat Tour + Voyager if you plan on using it for touring 80%+ of the time, or a full weight Wildcat + Cast if you plan on occasionally touring.

The extra weight and damping of the full weight Wildcat will allow it to perform significantly better in the resort during pow days when things typically get tracked out quickly, and if you're looking at occasionally touring, the extra weight isn't the end of the world.

Conversely, pairing the Wildcat Tour with a Voyager will achieve the overall lighter weight we typically look for in (mostly) touring specific setups.

Just some things to consider.

Coleg55I’m curious to how the moment bibbys do with mounted forward of rec. got a used pair but it’s been drilled twice. If I have to, will going +2 or so from rec kill the ski?
