Newschoolers Fantasy Football Money League V.7

Football season is right around the corner and there is nothing better than some good ol newschoolers fantasy football. TheBearJew is stepping down from commissioner and I will be taking over for the season. The league will be a $25 dollar buy in, same rules as last year. 12 man league, snake draft, half point (0.5) PPR. For payment, we take PayPal, Venmo or Cash App.

Here is the list of participants from last year who have priority to return for this upcoming season. If there is an opening we will select from the waitlist to fill those vacancies. So if you are trying to get in on the fun make sure you post in the thread and remember it's first come first serve.

I'm in, don't know about draft dates or anything. Just know first game is 9/6. And I'll be not available from the 8/31 to 9/4. No Labor day draft please.

Yep, sorry about the delay in communication. So currently am waiting for a response for roughly around 6 players. If they do not respond to me by Saturday then I will update the current roster of players on Sunday.

Today was the last day for returning players to get back to me. I will be going through the waitlist and filling in spots. League is set and once I receive the money I will add you to the league. The expected draft date is either August 21st or 23rd 9:00pm EST.

We have some conflicting schedules so I am thinking we will push the draft back to the 28th at 8:00pm EST. It also may be a benefit to draft later in preseason to avoid any post draft preseason injuries. How does this sound for everyone?

Closer to week 1 the better, 28th works for me, we might need to do 9pm EST if we have any west coasters.

So i think there are some adjustments to be made to the league, looking at defense it looks like its fully based on yards? Beef did you set it that way? Should probably review this.

We need to change the bench to 5 spots, right now it is 7. I 99% sure we had 5 last year, but even so we shouldn't have more than 5 bench spots.

I think we should also completely get rid of divisions, theyre pointless.

Otherwise i think the rules look fine, anyone else see any rules/have any ideas for rules?

So for the defense, this was actually what was used last year by TheBearJew. I am not entirely sure what it's based on but he said it seemed to make it fairer. Maybe he can explain it better and how it might be better than the default. I will go ahead and change the divisions because I completely agree with you. The bench spots are updated also! If anyone else thinks of any other changes please let me know!

If it's the defense we had set up last year that's dope, I think everyone liked how it was set up before, I just was a bit confused by the settings, I fully blame ESPN.

Yea I wish I could explain it. But honestly I have no idea how it works. Toddsteez sent me that and said hes used it before. I sent Beef the stats and i haven't looked at anything yet.

We are good with all 3 let’s just nail it down it’s coming up fast.

The first year I was in this league we had basically everyone on tiny chat during the draft talking shit it was super funny I am voting for that again

It was super fun actually. The commissioner made a big board and stickers with all the players. The thing about auction draft is it really requires a lot of discipline to not get wrangled into a bidding war just because someone is flipping you shit or you really had your sights set on a certain player. Conversely there’s no benefit to leaving money on the table so you can’t be so conservative that you don’t take ANY top players because by the end the bench guys basically start going uncontested.

the whole thing took like 4.5 hours, so you kind of have to like the people in our league if you wanna go that direction.

Yeah i cant remember, but 1st, 2nd 3rd and regular season winner is usually the setup for most leagues but we can do whatever we want
