I know its summer but I can't get snow off the brain...
I'll be in Hokkaido Nov 18 - March 19 skiing as much as I can without going broke. Shoot me a message if you want to meet up for a few runs or a beer.

SleekCarnalDebating between Niseko vs Rusutsu as a base.
I’m attracted to Rusutsu as its less crowded, less likely to get skied out, and has an awesome freeride park, but I’m worried that it will be super isolating to live in for a full season. Niseko has better amenities, but is crowded, easy, and gets skied out.
I noticed you're currently there - what are your thoughts?
JiseiWell both offer great snow and honestly they are not far away from each other.
But as you mention, Rusutsu is less crowded compared to Niseko. but that is because the resort is smaller (if you do not count the back-country) and yes it can feel isolated. Many people go for just a few days. Niseko on the other hand is the mecca for Japow and can entertain people for more days because of the several resorts around. The town has more apres-ski and places to stay (including cheaper lodges). that is also why it is more crowded.
I would choose Niseko if I were staying long and Rusutsu if for a short trip.
Since you are going there for quite a long time, I am sure you will end up going all around haha.
I might be going to Niseko with some friends for a few days in January 2019 (I live in Tokyo).
