Hype for this has been building for about a year or so and they finally released shit yesterday aaaaaand it's fucking mad expensive. Honestly, I expected more from Pettit & crew for this but $70 for a t shirt (after shipping) is pretty ridiculous.

$129 CAD for a hoodie without shipping is a lot of money. I mean if it was a really fantastic hoodie I might be down, but it doesn't really look like anything special, considering the price.

I mean you're not wrong, but it's not really a fair comparison. Supreme happens to be recognized as one of the worlds leading streetwear brands, and the quality of their clothes is significantly higher than Super proof's, and that's not even mentioning supreme's resale value.

At the end of the day, I'd rather continue buying clothes from local brands and thrift stores instead of buying either supreme or super proof.

Not into their stuff, but I'm going to play Devil's advocate for the pricing - the shirts are made in LA, so they are likely produced at one of the factories that makes the American Apparel stuff. Those shops produce some quality stuff and charge a lot to produce small quantities for small companies not looking to make thousands at a time. It's possible that their stuff is cut and sew, which adds another expense, particularly for small orders. If you wan't cheap stuff (not saying poor quality, just cheap), it's not going to be made here. While a lot of made in USA stuff is definitely overpriced, there is a very significant back end cost associated with producing it.

The t-shirts look like they are of pretty good quality indeed. But the hoodies' fit looks really weird. I don't understand how anyone would want to spend that much on a hoodie that looks ill-fitted like those ones.

We weren’t going to buy anything anyway. Let Sean make the stuff he wants to make. Plenty of people making shit for us that we can support.

You can make your own t shirts and hoodies with your own custom design for cheaper at custom ink. Idk why you would buy superproof. The designs are literally non existent. They just say “superproof” in small letters.

I agree that the prices are quite high but they're clearly going for the "designer" streetwear market and tbh the prices aren't all that outlandish compared to some other brands catering to the same audience. Its also important to note that aside from the "staple tee" which is a screen print all other pieces are embroidered logos which will make it last longer and is overall higher quality. All that said, the shipping kind of kills it for me since I'm shipping to the US.
