Talk me out of the Dalbello Krypton AX 120

The only person who should talk you in or out of a boot is a boot-fitter. Listening to what people like or don't like is actually not helpful to you. What one person hates, you might love and what they love, you might hate because your foot is not their foot. In this flex range, you will be looking at mainly high end boots, so their quality is all very similar, and every brand will have an option. The differences are going to be in fit, geometry, flex pattern, and weight. Go with the best option that fits your foot, has the geometry you want, and flex pattern that you need/like.

Dear God if people responded the same to ski recommendations as they did boot recommendations wouldn't the gear section be fun?

I specifically did that on purpose because one of the worst things you can do is get an idea of a boot in your head before you go into the store to get fitted. In my experience as a boot-fitter, this usually led people to buy the wrong boot and avoid the one that was actually right for them.

There are about 8-10 options in the category you asked for (100mm width boots with a ~120 flex) that are all going to be high quality products. They are going to differ in their exact fit, feel, and flex pattern. So, because no one on the internet has seen your footshape, assessed your ankle flexibility, etc., it is honestly pointless to suggest a model to you. The chance of that model being the right thing for you is incredibly small.

I will comment on Dalbellos build quility tho... IMO better than full tilt (not that im recomending any boot, definitely not, its just a widely discussed boot similar to dalbello) but still not quite there. My Krypton Pros always had buckles fall or break off, various screws would strip, the spoilers broke off, I once lost the whole front sole to my boots which was super sketchy, etc. I loved my kryptons up until around the 100 day mark. Im now back to a race boot. Also, I should note my biggest gripe with my kryptons. They got dramatically softer as they got older. I had them for maybe a year and a half and went through 3 tongues. Their torsional rigidity and spine both fealt softer and softer as the boots were skied more. However, best stock liners I have ever had in any boots!

I should note, im not sure if any of these issues maybe were adressed in last years slight re-design.
