Whats the move on action cameras?

GoPro was dominant for awhile but I feel like they have fallen off now. There is the FDR-X3000 and the Mi action camera that seem to offer more for less. Anyone have any experiences, recommendations, etc? Looking for something that I can use POV skiing, have it stabilized handheld, and have it not be a janky mess mountain biking.

The best filming ur gonna get for the cheapest is a buddy at the top or base of a jump w an Iphone. If you wanna spend a bunch of money, buy a real nice film camera and a stabilizer and get someone to follow you. For helmet cams, Gopros.

i think the best move is to get a used (there are so many nearly-unused GoPros out there) gopro Session. used means it's cheaper, and the session gets great footage for a helmet cam and is much smaller than the other choices. i don't understand how it's not the most popular one (and why they discontinued it), it reduces the teletubby look by like 50%

Got my Hero 7 Black for $299 and it's a gamechanger with the built in hypersmooth.. feel like a Jerry with a helmet cam tho.

The GoPro hero7 Black is sooo worth the money. I’ve been filming a ton with it this winter and mostly doing follow cams with it and it blows me away how so smooth and clear it is. The battery life is so good and imo it’s the best GoPro ever. I don’t need to own a gimble at all.
