JoeF2661I woke up to this this morning. Bourdain was an awesome man and a great writer. There are so many deaths in the news of big name actors and personalities that I dont really react to but bourdain's death is one that I actually felt something. His great honesty in his books and his multiple shows will be missed.
oiucheekykuntWhen the media covers suicides like this there is a bump in suicides
DingoSeanYou mean a bump in coverage of suicides...
oiucheekykuntNo, more people kill themselves. When you have stuff like this exposed to millions of people in the headlines its not suprising a few more people kill themselves. Same thing happens at schools where someone kills themself and is then mourned or focused on for a while, and that thing is people killing themself

theabortionatorAt the same time the dips are wild and intense, and if I ever get health insurance, I'll probably try to do something about this all.
TOAST.Aren't there any free resources that you can access to help you?
theabortionatorIdk there's probably something. But for anything medical it's pretty slim pickings for anything free or halfway affordable. If you don't have health insurance you're pretty shot. Unless you live in a decent size city and the programs offered aren't too shitty.
If I don't get approved in CA I'm going to lose my ability to have $$$ worth of medical bills covered. That'd be dope. Especially considering how shitty the service was. If that happens I probably won't pay it though. Or do some ultra low payment plan where I never even come close to paying it off.
The health care system is fucking whack.
Also still need to get my back checked out. It's super fucked from work. Haven't been able to sleep right since Jan. But you know, I can kind of survive as is if I sleep half sitting up. So spending any more $$ really isn't an option till I get health insurance.
And if they ever actually fine me for not having health insurance, shit is going to go down.
I really hate going to doctors anyway. Unless somethings clearly broken or seriously fucked up, I stay far away. Maybe I'll figure it all out, get shit functioning at a reasonable level, and get my mental shit figured out as well.
Probably won't though, and I'll just continue on all fucked up until things get too intense.
IsitWinterYet17Is your income low enough to qualify for medicaid? If you live in CA, it looks more complicated to find that info out. That might be something to look into for discounted or free insurance. The income tables vary from state to state

theabortionatorI applied for medicaid or one of them. Not sure if i got approved. Ill be back in CA in 2 or 3 weeks.
Also the income thing sucks because you can make more and live so much shittier in ski towns.
But its all set and backdated if it goes through to cover my bills.
Hoping it works because im kinda fucked otherwise.
Thanks for the looks
JoeF2661Hey man I'm on Medicaid and while I dont want to sound like a whiny brat it's so hard to get in and see a doctor. Took me 9 months just to find a doctor that would take medicaid. If you end up in the E.R they have to see you but I feel like they look at you like you're poor and will just let you hang out for hours longer than usual. I love this country but our healthcare is a joke and mental health services in non existant for the most part.
