New Ski Company 2019 Design Ideas

Hi guys,

I thought that I would post these here to see what peoples thoughts are on our first initial ski designs. I have worked in the Ski industry for a small Ski Manufacturer in Europe for a few years and in 2019, we're hoping to start our own small company.

Just wanted some opinions on these designs, if you like them or if there is anything you guys would wanna see? (They are pretty rough at the moment). Our skis will be mainly based on Backcountry/Pow day skiing with maybe a couple of Park/Pipe lines too down the way.

If you've got any questions or suggestions hit me up.

Would be interested in the dimensions of these guys. Looks like a fun pow shape but (at least from the picture) waist width to taper looks a bit aggressive. Do you have an idea what the turn radius is going to be like?

Holy shit, I haven't had a laugh like that in a minute. "Similar"? Dude you got red handed copping someone else's design and all of the hard work and R&D that they've put in to determining a shape. If you had any hint of imagination, or for that matter, any experience working in the ski industry then you wouldn't have pulled such an ignorant move. If you had made your own prototype to test based off a similar shape to practice making skis or begin your own R&D it would be understandable, but stealing a footprint and slapping your own graphics on it with the intent of selling it is complete busch league. Not only did you bite a shape but your name is a rip on a whole line from Atomic. Go fuck yourself and don't ever start a ski company you ignorant, unoriginal prick.

Politely, don't treat me like an idiot. It's pretty clear you are using the PNG outline of the Cease & Desist as a clipping mask. I would have been ok with a statement saying these were just graphic outlines to gauge on how people would receive your graphics and didn't represent actual ski design, but to play it off as coincidence is laughable.

This is my living and that of all my hardworking employees - so I don't take kindly to people trying to blow smoke up my ass.

If they dont have the ability to make an art template they dont have the ability to make a ski. I wouldn't worry about it.

This statement is alarming based on the fact that the simplest way to avoid this problem would be to make sure you knew what other major brands were doing in an effort to avoid copying them. The fact that you made a conscious effort not to do this is concerning because it tells me that you don't understand how a ski company business works on multiple levels.

Has anyone on NS actually ridden the C&Ds? They seem so bad ass, and Im pretty sure they’re definitely not the right skis for me but I want them soo damn bad

Big difference between looking at and testing other people’s shapes and copying it from their website and putting your graphics on it.

Eh, I dunno. Shapes have been pretty dialed for a while now. Materials and construction are the difference makers. If you were starting a new ski company, you'd be kind of dumb to not research what works. It's a moot point though. These guys are never actually making a set of skis, and if they did, they'd be garbage, unless they used a nice existing factory. Guess what shape and dimensions that factory would recommend? Most likely something that every other brand already uses.

His point was that everyone looks at the competition, and that people would be dumb not to look at the competition, but OP straight copied the exact design. There's a difference between looking at the competition and making your own design based off other designs and straight taking the exact design of another company.

looking like a copy and paste pasta ova here. OPs image has dimensions and shape quite similarly (literally so similar) that reflect an older C&D made by Ohnep skis
