This is cool. Axis of the spins looks spot on. It seems to have the camera follow of SNOW (Which is a good thing) with fairly realistic spins and flips.

Pair that with a decent control setup and some actually objectives and storyish thing and you might just have the next Skate 3.

Today I have been fixing an animation for the nose butters, took a while since I had to rig to skis. Hopefully I can add the ability to nollie later tonight and tomorrow I will try to fix so that we can tweak the grabs, smililar to how you tweak them in Skate3.

Haha im good, dont worry.

Btw if you guys were to select 8 one handed grabs (like in skate 3 where L1 is left hand grab and R1 is right hand grab) which grabs would you choose? Right now I use saftey on left, mute on right, japan on down-right, crossed tail on down, uncrossed tail on down-left and nose on up.

I really like that you are going with a skate like grab system I think that will work well. The grabs you have sound really good. It could be cool to throw in some tweaked variants like high/wide safety. A critical grab could be cool to.

Switch stance looks pretty good. Don't like forward really.
I would love to see some stylish riding style as the standard stance, that's imo a big problem on Shredsauce, that it looks clunky.
Just take Keegan, Jake Carney etc. as example.
I would also love to see landings with the skis tight together.

Maybe what you could do is like make 3 different ride styles and the player can choose in the beginning.
As example
1. standard one, neutral
2. More stylish stance with skis pretty tights

Thanks for the input! Yeah the landings look horrible right now, I can look into that tomorrow. Great that you add a reference video, anyone with a video of a good forward stance?

I kinda agree, I think bringing the skis closer together could help a lot. Also having the ability to choose between riding stance is a great idea.

Afterbang/heavy head effect could be really cool too. Especially if you could somehow make the magnitude of the effect correlate with how heavy the landing is but that might be really hard to do.

Update4:
You can now tweak the grabs. You choose which hand to grabs with by using L1 or R1 (use both for dub grabs) and than you choose grab by tilting the right stick towards your desired grab. You can than tweak the grab by tilting the right stick of the controller left, right, up or down.

I agree with priority of halfpipe.
I think 95% will almost never use it tbh. Kickers and rails are just way more fun.

If you need more video reference, i can give you alot! I'm obsessed with those stylish edits.
I will send you a few examples for some stuff.

To the afterbang stuff: I would not change it, dependant on the impact unless you can make it look really good every time.
Or you limit the scale of it happening, otherwise it would look wacky on insanely huge jumps prob.
You can also give the animation some time, i would prefer it looking smooth instead of "more realistic", since i can imagine it will be very hard
to make it realistic and good looking (since it's happening so fast most of the times in RL)

I think it will also help, when the charactermodel wears a bit more baggy clothes.

Right now you can edit the colors of the characters clothing but you cant chang to a jacket for example.

I'm so down for this game. A feature that i missed in SNOW and Steep, was that they didn't have such relevant park skis. It feels so sick to shred the mountains on a game with your own pair of skis. Just a thought

Here a little update:

I have created a main menu and pause menu for a demo, I will upload a movie of this tonight or tomorrow. I have also created a new character which is a little more baggy than the first one and I have changed the riding animations so that the skiier is not riding with such a gap between the skis. Finally, I have created a new map just so I could test the menu.

I shit a brick when you 3 swapped from that high rail to the down rail. You can’t do that in shredsuace or snow
