Mattgeraghty3Hey moving to Whistler for next season and was wondering if anyone had any inside info on sorting accomodation. There will be 5 of us and will be looking for a place for the full winter. The earliest we could get out is the start of October so I was just wondering if this is too late to be arriving and secondly are there any other options if that is too late. Like has anyone stayed in staff accomodation is it any good? Is there any way to sort accomodation before we head over? Thanks for any help at all!
DeepskierLet me get in on that, lets get a 6 person place.
DeepskierOP Im serious, Ive been looking for friends, roomates, ski buddies, drinking buddies, etc. I plan to move to whistler or squamish in the fall, im flexible but earlier the better. Ive been looking for places and the best deal by far would be a big ass house 4bi9 style. I rember a couple killer 5 person ones, we could get a 6 person going.
SlunkyBig ass crew houses are lit

SlunkyEasiest way is just to work for mtn and live in staff accomm, just know that you won’t make a lot of money, and they aren’t that nice, but if you live with your friends(4 to a room) it’d be lit
Mattgeraghty3If we had four people do you know if you are able to request to be put in the same room/apartment is that a thing? Also have a couple with us can they get a double room or whatever in staff accom?
SlunkyYeah you can request to be in the same room, and there are couple rooms but I would recommend they go in a different room as the layouts with the couple rooms don’t have living rooms
MF-HARPBuilding 7 in Glacier staff housing has couple rooms and living rooms, and is by far the best of the glacier buildings to be in. Was in a gaff that had 3 rooms with double beds. No real kitchen and no living room. What a fantastic year that was
pow_pow~mm I was in a room with two bunk beds one year
SlunkyThere’s three layouts at glacier, with each getting more expensive (approx. 350$/month, 500$/, 900$. The cheapest is the standard two room, 4 people, living room, kitchen, washroom. The next is 4 private or couple rooms, with kitchen and washroom, but no living room, the final is 4 private rooms, washroom, kitchen, and living room. (Brio and west side are the same layout as the last but less expensive because they’re further from the village
ahmedthesailorSave some money so if you dont find a place right away you can van life it for a while. And get there before Oct if you can. Right now its pretty tough to find a place unless you know somebody already. You five will probably be split up and everyman for himself. Keep your eyes open for places on Eagle Dr just north of Whis Cay dr. Theyre not picky about tenants or occupancy and those places go off. Far better than staff haha. Good luck bro!
Mattgeraghty3Thanks for the info man exactly what I was looking for potentially have some couples with us so wanted to see if staff housing would be reasonable for them! Do you know if its hard to get staff housing like would you have to go through one of the working holiday agencies or whatever?
