so, looking into upgrades from my old cam because it doesnt have a mic jack (a6000) and well im used to shooting 1080 60 at 50mbps... a lot of cameras in my price bracket are only 28mbps or less... i know the gh3 isbetter but im not sure i want to step down to a four thirds sensor since i do a bunch of paid photography work. so would 28mbps vs 50 or higher really be noticable for skiing? or should i keep the a6000 for pics and buy some type of camcorder that does it better(no idea what things are in the camcorder realm of thing)
Bit rates of 8-bit codecs don't mean much, AVCHD is 28mbps which is where you are seeing the difference in size, while the a6000 probably is shooting mp4 or mov. Both have pros and cons, but why not just the the a6300? Doesn't it have a mic jack?
If you're that into photography, you should either have a dedicated photo camera, or get a a7s/a7r which would be great for videos and photos.
