DensecloudsVery interesting.. Something like a mythical creature.. Perhaps sledneckturbo has transcended the artificial world, to pursue effortless butters & straight airs, in a dimension beyond ours
JAHSHUAsocial media is whack. Why? Well its not the platforms such as IG or FB that are inherently bad, but the users themselves. Individuals are naturally oriented to be selfish and narcisstic, pair those attitudes with social media, and you get a big self-jerkoff, a display of how grandiose and amazing a life can be. That aside, social media is unhealthy of another reason - it is low grade mental food. You just spent an hour watching cat & fail videos on IG? Well, for one you're never going to get that hour back. Secondly, in that time, you could have read something or done something that helped you better your life.
I spent a week unplugged last week checking out the desert. God, was that nice. Its not good to have your brain stimulated by a screen everyday, it subtly changes you.
All that said, props to Delorme especially considering all the pressure he gets from sponsors. We would all be healthier and more progressed / advanced in our interests if we spent less time distracting ourselves with senselessness that can come from the internet.

Cade2I dont think AD is the kinda skier brands are wanting to push products for. I think comp skiers or more well known skiers are probably more likely to hav to do that stuff. Although AD is a very influential skier to many, I think brands like faction would probably use Guys like Candide to push a product.

theabortionatorUnplugging in nature is great but social media isnt bad. Sure there are people who zonbie into their screens, same with tv, food, anything.
Idk. I dont like how it gets used sometmes but it doesnt really matter. Everything in moderation, and if you hate something you can abstain. Dont like facebook, stop logging in.
If you waste time watching funny videos whatever. There are all kinds of ways to waste time. If it relaxes you than whatever.
Idk, i think people are too quick to blame things. And Ive seen way too many posts about how people are quitting social media. "Hey, im quiting facebook but im posting this on facebook so people notice how cool i am with hating facebook". And then like the people who post about how they quit cigs for good after 1day, theyre usually back into it with in a few weeks tops.
TGraham9what if its ski videos instead of cats?
JAHSHUANever said the internet was inherently bad. I'm alluding to thefact that people generally aren't very disciplined and do not use the internet in a resourceful manner . Rather, a lot of people waste their time watching other people have sex or whatever else. Your time on earth is very limited and you have so much potential within you to become something. All those hours wasted online might be relaxing, but they sure as hell don't help you become your best self, which I personally think is the best thing we could each do to contribute to our species. And yeah, you make a good point about cigs and are helping reinforce what I say - we don't have very much self control and as a result do a lot of damage to our future self. Moderation is good, but seeing as the internet is so new and that we aren't that familiar with the psychological and physical sicknesses it can cause, we're not very good at using it moderately. Case and point - go to any public space and look at how many people are staring at their phones.
theabortionatorYou're sitting on nsg on newschoolers wasting time right now.
IsitWinterYet17I'm actually sitting on the toilet, thank you very much. I'm also on NS so multitasking ha! But I did just waste 60 seconds typing this that I'll never have back. 60 seconds less of Netflix or Xbox. Fuck.
theabortionatorNice job wasting your life. I haven't pooped in a week. I'm maximizing my time on this earth

casualWow, a week unplugged! Do an AMA!
This post comes off so pretentious and condescending.
BigPurpleSkiSuitFor real though, when will there be another delorme edit? I can watch walk in the park 1 and 2 forever particularly 2 since in my humble opinion that butter landing at mammoth is something we might just never see ever again.
