Kids skis as ski blades

I could cop some 100 cm Volki Step JR 98 from a friend for $40. Would a shop let me mount these with sth 16s for my boot or would it be frowned upon?

Mount them yourself? You'll need to do something with the screws, the screws from full-sized human bindings are too long for kids skis.

There are some other things to consider- because the skis are significantly shorter than usual, the way they work as lever and exert force on your boot is very different, so say you got hold of some shorter screws to mount an sth16 to those and had DINs at 10, it would take way more force for them to release than if you had for example a 185cm ski attached.

Well I could just set em at like 8 then. Or even less. And the chance of injury due to not releasing is far slimmer because of the smaller Ski meaning less chance of it being grabbed by something major and I won’t be hucking stuff like normally.

Yeah I get what you’re saying. I also don’t know if you can really release from your basic Ski blades? Those binding seem pretty locked in.

Most likely you will rip the bindings off the ski the first day. The core is a thinner lighter wood or foam built for a child. The only way I would trust it would be to helicoil it. The labor for the mounting with helicoils would be around $120. hell if its worth it to you, go for it/

mount them yourself and have a blast, i've skied some 110 kids skis as blades before. took'em off 20ft jumps and did some backys. This was closing day though so it was mega soft, would not be keen for doing it when it was firm.

Fuck it dude drill them yourself and have fun....dont do anything super high consequence where a pull out would result in injury(I mean you're on blades you probs won't be in this situation anyways) and have fun. I've always wanted to do something like this
