Not really? I know it's "inexplicable" but why do you hate him? From my perspective; he works hard, he does dope shit, he skis for indy brands (Moment, 4frnt), and he's unequivocally the best pipe skier of all time.

agreed, i like that he's a little different than your stereotypical pro skier. he's a (mormon, maybe?) family man, seems like a super nice dude, unbelievably nasty pipe skier... i like that different types of people can excel at skiing, it shouldn't need to be 1000 clones of the same person/lifestyle out there. i got mad respect for david wise

I'm not a fan, but I have reason. There was an interview with him that he pretty much said the only reason he skis and continues to ski is because he's good at it. That kind of kills it for me.

Link to interview? I wouldn't judge someone if they said that about just comp skiing, simply because traveling the world to ski competitions that you're not doing well in is really fucking expensive. If I had the skill and resources of say Henrik, I would absolutely be on the comp scene, but if I actually hated it, I'd quit regardless of how good at it I was. l still plan to ski til the day I die, or am no longer physically able to.
