Timberline/Hood Tips & Advice

What's good Newschoolers, spring has sprung and I'm getting ready to venture out to Hood from CO for my very first time like all the cool kids do around this time of the year. I just purchased my Timberline Spring Pass today and am stoked to keep the shred going! The longterm forecast is looking pretty good so my plan is to camp, but if not I know people that live in Hood River & Portland area so I have some backup plans in place.
Since I'm a noob at this shit I thought I'd reach out and ask for any tips or words of advice when it comes to living the Hood Life. I've been to Govy/T-Line before but was just passing through so I'm not that familiar with the area. Any suggestions on restraunts, bars, campspots or hostels, hotspots & things to do would be greatly appreciated! Much Love NS

P.S. I'm a respectful human being who plans to leave my camping spot better than I found it upon my departure shall I follow through with camping. I understand this has been an issue the past few years and I'm a lot better than that.

P.S.S. I'll be rollin' solo so if anyone wants to connect and shred that would be dope!

RV park for showers

Ratskeller has a gypsy menu you can get food on from cheap...or just hang out in there and wait till a family leaves their plates untouched and swarm in on left overs. Camp spots would be any old logging road except for Road 32 (I believe)....

Tons of great hikes around. Check out Romona Falls, Tamanawas Falls, and Castle Canyons.

Im around camping out, went to portland for the weekend but we’re gonna be finding a new campsite later today but hmu for some riding

I live in Hood River,plenty of good camping towards the sunny side, near Sherwood and surrounding areas. The down side of camping towards HR is there is a lack of stores but way less rain. Also there is not a lot snow at lower elevations, so many campsites are open. Forest Service is also out and about, so dont camp at the same site for 14 days, and make sure to leave no trace.
Food is more expense in Govy and you have to travel at least 30 minutes to get to a good grocery store because thrift way in welches, sucks. Charlies is great bar in govy, and say hello to ever you see in that place because people are super friendly. Ice axe has some great beer, happy hour is 3-5 and their food is really good. Glacier Haus greta food,but hour vary. Make sure to venture down to portland, Hood River or the coast on rainy days, it will help breakup the storm especially if TLine is not open. Anyone feel free to message me, i drive up to Govy most days from Hood River, so if you need anything let me know.

I lost my phone a month ago so unfortunately I have not been in contact with timberline! I will be activating this old nokia phone that my dad used to use than hopefully get in contact with them! either way im going out, if all else fails i can crash with a friend in SLC until i here back from timberline. Hope I can get there in time to ride with you!

for sure take a break from skiing and travel to the Gorge in George, Washington on June 29th to see Dead & Company. Follow them back into Oregon for their show in Eugene on June 30th.

Then take another ski break July 20 - 22 and travel back to the Gorge for the 3 night Phish run.

Would seriously be the best summer ever if you pulled all that off.

Then take another ski break July 20 - 22 and travel back to the Gorge for the 3 night Phish run.

Damn, I may have to go see the Dead if I can get off work!

Haha wish I could dude but I have to be back in Telluride around Memorial Day weekend to start summer work. Always have wanted to hit the Gorge though it looks beautiful. Dead & Co. are playing in Boulder July 13-14 but that's the same weekend as Ride Fest here and I'm a big Cheese guy, plus it's right in my own backyard anyways.
