i hope this letter will convince my parents:
Dear Mom and Dad,
Don’t worry, I don’t have some teenage-girl -need-to-buy syndrome. If you just take a minute to read this letter I think you’ll understand what I failed to say with words.
Mom, picture this scenario: you’ve wanted this beautiful, absolutely perfect couch that is stain resistant, comfy, amazing looking and would fit your living room perfectly. The only problem is that it costs $8,000 and doesn’t come with the matching lamps that make it even better. But you already have a fine couch that you just bought, so you’re not going to buy this one – you only fantasize about it occasionally. Then one day, you’re on eBay and you see it brand new WITH the matching lamps for $1,000 starting price. It doesn’t look like many people have seen this item because there isn’t many bids. Of course, you KNOW you won’t win it for under $2000. It’s brand new and comes with the lamps – worth at least 10,000. But you say, “Hey, it can’t hurt…. What if for some miracle I DO win? So you go ahead and bid $1,500 for your maximum bid. Three days later you check and OH MY GOD! You won. Amazing! Everyone is jealous. Except one problem. You don’t need this couch, you already have one, and you don’t have 1,500 to spend, you only have $800. Because you’re smart and think to the future – you realize that it would be stupid to pass this up (not to mention getting negative feedback on eBay), you borrow the rest from your good friend. And because you just moved away from the ocean into your new house, you have a boat and a jet ski that you could sell, within days, both being in very good condition, and your debt would be paid off. In fact, you already have several offers on these items.
This is basically the situation I am in, except in much lower money terms. I realized that living on the east coast I’m not going to have the chance to ride powder and it doesn’t really make sense having a powder ski (the red skis that I won at Windells). And because I will be (if everything works out) to Gould in Maine next year, and skiing almost everyday in the park – it makes a lot of sense to have 2 great park skis. Anyways, I could sell the 4Frnts (the red skis) right away, and my Armadas which I already have many offers for. Then I only have 2 pairs of skis which is much more acceptable. I realized that I don’t need 3 pairs of goggles, or 3 pairs of snowpants (I am growing more mature and realistic), and I am selling everything that is unnecessary and already have many offers on them. I already have received 40 dollars for my lens, and receive a check for my Armadas very soon. That alone is 300 dollars. Do you remember when I sold my jacket so I could get something else, and paid you RIGHT back after taking care of shipping myself and receiving a check? I plan to take the transactions into my own hands completely. So please, let me prove to you that I know what I’m doing. I know you this doesn’t matter so much to you but I might as well include this info:
If I bought these at normal price online or in a shop:
Rossignol FKS 120 Bindings ---- Regular Price:$319.00

 $375.00 …
