please tele what is better and for what reasons. I already have a powder ski that i can easily use in all mountain. wanted more of a park ski to begin doing tricks that I can then bring into the backcountry. ( tricks in backcountry not the skis)
I used to have poachers. They're a great ski and I've not had any problems with them except the skis getting chipped and bit of the base coming off. This probably won't happen to you though as I do ski on a dryslope about 3 times a week and I've used the skis for a year.
My friend has sights and says they are very stiff and heavy. You might want a stiff ski but he doesn't really like the flex.
Both are good skis though but the poachers might have the upper hand.
The rivets on both skis tend to fall out.
My friend has skiied the poachers for a week and has already lost a rivets and has edge cracks. They are also on the heavy side.
However with the sights I believe they have a foam core, which isint good
poachers or nothing. 100% my favorite ski atm. it's fat, but not too fat. perfect. need some time to really shine though. after a week or two they soften up a bit and are completely porn
kindof depends what type of skiing you like to do. The sight is a traditional style park ski, mostly associated with comp skiing these days - e.g kinda heavy, lots of camber, skinny, stiff. good for pop, carving and stability. Poacher is much more playful and all-mountain style, although sounds like you're not that interested in all mountain performance. If you're specifically looking for a ski to progress on and then take stuff to the backcountry though the poacher will probably suit your style better
Depends if you like wider and a little stiffer or narrower and a little softer. I have both and for me personally I would ski either happily in the park. I like the poacher as you can rip on that ski. It's got some decent stiffness underfoot but nice flex in the top and tail. Awesome for going fast and big on. Think jake carney style hits.
The sight being 88mm rather then 96mm is lighter and also a little softer. Personally I use this ski if I'm just going to hit the park. It's more buttery then the poacher and also being slightly lighter you can throw them around so easily. They are less good out of the park but if this does not matter to you they are a great pure park ski.
Both skis use our double barrel core which is denser harder wood on the outside of the core a lighter wood in the center to keep the swing weight down. They both have full sidewall and a sintered base. So construction wise they are the same. So pick slightly wider and stiffer or narrower and a little softer.
