Camping Suggestions... Pacific Highway 1 (north) - Tahoe - Yosemite?

The redwood forest on the 1 is sick and there are plenty of good camping options. Once you crossover on the 1 over into tahoe route 89 is in my opinion the most scenic highway anywhere in cali if not the west coast. Lots of goods spots just off the road the only trouble will be if they are opened yet. Camp curry in Yosemite is a nicespot to look at. Tons of good hiking around.

General idea is Park City to Mammoth to Shasta Lake (may do tahoe on the way) then to the Redwoods then down the coast along the 1 to San Fran and then to Yosemite (which is closed from the east until late may early june) then either Tahoe or back to Park City.

Mammoth - Mammoth Scenic Loop has good dispersed camping
Shasta Lake - you can camp on the beach 200 yards from developments and bird sanctuaries

If you are going through shasta check out the camping on the mccloud river. The upper and lower falls are dope. Damn fine fishing. Castle crags is a must hike if you are in the area. Look online a little and let me know. These be my stomping grounds.

It is not possible to sleep in your Sprinter in Yosemite. The rangers will quite literally bang on your van until you open it, in the middle of the night. You will be fined heavily. It's simply not possible. You can park just outside of the park and sleep there.

McCloud is a little further north then we were planning on going, but could be worth it. Have you ever driven on Highway 93 from like Callahan to Somes Bar or onto the coast? If we went up north to McCloud area we probably wouldnt want to drive back south to 299, which is our planned route to the coast.

Never taken the 93. Don't even think it goes to the coast. The 299 is a nice drive right when you get to Redding then hope on the 1 from there. Mccloud is worth the detour if you have time.

Fowler's campground is chill. Not exactly off the beaten path but access to the trails are right there and the falls are close by. Checkout activenorcal.net they have a lot of good info

Flying Sydney to Tokyo skiing Hakuba for 5 days

Tokyo to Denver and skiing around summit for a few weeks

Returning to Sydney from LA, so road tripping from summit to either Tahoe or PC depending on snow and want to do some touristy shit on the way therefore the Yosemite/San Fran stops

a couple places, first we drove over the dam to the BLM land and accessed from back that way. it's a rough dirt road, but it was quiet and pretty awesome. next day we camped on the beach campground which is right off the highway where the I-5 crosses the lake. cool spot, but a bit busy. cliff jumped right from camp though which was awesome.

hey guys ill be booking my camper soon to drive from denver to LAX after a couple weeks skiing around summit.

Currently I have allowed about 10 days but can stretch that to 12/13 if need be.

Id like to spend most of this time skiing around either Tahoe, park city, crested butte or Telluride depending on where the snow's at.

However I would also like to squeeze some sightseeing in as well.
Currently in the general vicinity of my intended route:

- Moab, Utah
- Redwoods, California
- Yosemite, California

I'd like to see a hockey game and I assume denver would be best for this.
Could anyone suggest any short hikes in these areas or specific places to stop in?
Any other places worth checking out that would be along the way, including museums?

I am travelling by myself and its mid winter so there is a few restrictions. My primary focus is skiing but id like to make the most of the trip.

Went on a climbing trip to Tuolumne Meadows and was pleasantly surprised to see that a NSer works for the grill/store there. This Subaru with NS sticker was parked in the employee parking for multiple days. I asked the one employee who had the skier "look" but he had no idea. I also confirmed that it was not marsland. Whoever it was, hope that you're a climber and got in some great objectives on your days off!
