I have heard the skis like the blends, honey badgers, and chronics etc... have been know to be very durable in general. But I have heard differently about lines top sheets. I’d love to hear how your guys line topsheets have held up. FYI I’m sorta looking to change brands for next season just for reference I’m 5,2 and 105 pounds. I ski mainly park which I am sort of a beginner in and some all mountain.
I have a pair of '08 Invaders, bought them used off of Craigslist back when I first started getting serious in the park. They were in pretty good condition when I got them and used them heavily for about 2 more years before they started to show their age. Top sheet still looks great but edges on the tips and tails are starting to split (probably reasonable from banging into walls and stuff doing urban). I was impressed and last winter found a deal on the TW pro and got those. Used them for about a season and a half (90% in the park) and edges still look good, topsheet is pretty worn near the tips and tails and can start to see the sidewalls where it has chipped along the ski, so not as impressed there. Not sure if my next pair will be Lines, but ive had a good experience with them so far.
Got a pair of Blends, generally have held up well to a fair bit of abuse. definitely a few chips in the topsheet but only from skiing park/slamming quite a lot and having the skis hit each other and in those circumstances topsheet chipping is inevitable whatever ski you're on. metal edges vs plastic topsheet, metals gonna win
Our top sheets are similar to many other manufacturers (we get them from the same supplier in Austria) and are happy with how they are but obviously, anything will be chipped if you're blasting it with metal edges over and over. I boost the durability for 18/19 we've added a matte texture 'Tuff Top' which is a bit more durable on all freestyle skis (except Honey Badger, due to it's even lower price next year). Hope that info helps! Good luck picking skis! - josh
Ive got a 2014 pair of Sicks Days. They are holding up just fine, a little chipped but nothing major that affects the performance. I'd expect the same wear and tear with other skis.
