I have been missing from the ski world for 20 yrs I have a whole collection of my 70’s -90’s ski I was at expert level when I left and can still make my old stuff go but I am looking for advice to transition to new .love the bumps tight turns and straight down the fall line

Just for clarification:
Are you looking for two different skis, one for bumps and one for charging?

Where do you ski primarily?

What skis did you ride in the past and enjoy? This may not be relevant as the majority of the members here either weren't alive or weren't cognisant of events in the 1990's.

I have notice that skiers today travel with several pair we always had the one I always liked Olin 4’s Head Yahoo they went from bumps to deep powder.I suppose it was more what we made them do then what they did for us

OP, I think of bump skis and bomber skis for big lines as very different. How big are you and where do you ski? Looking at all mountain skis you'll find the waists to be much much wider than what you skied back in the day.

I know a guy that still skis his Head Yahoos. Says they are the only ski didn't break so he's going to ski them till he snaps one. Lol. In his case it is the skier and not the ski. Dude rides all conditions on those things. I think the new skis are funner and easier also I like to have more than one pair of skis because of different conditions and lately it seems like I break or rip out a binding if I forget to have an extra pair in the car.
Where do you ride OP?
