Summary id down below because I have a lot of questions here they go. I'm from the east coast, 5'6" and about 130lbs. I want a ski that will be a fun sorta buttery ski yet stable off jumps as I am progressing. I got backflips down, spins to 7s, so prolly gonna try rodeo 5s next year and misty 5s. 270s out fs and bs, trying to learn swaps and 2s on. Coming off some tigersnakes. Also wondering what difference width makes on rails. The edollo seems like it may be too soft and ive heard good and bad about the durability, armada says the flex is 4-5-5. On3p has the Magnus at 5-6-5 are they stiffer or do different brands just put it differently? Vishnu doesn't say anything besides they are buttery and stable on landings. If the dollos are too soft and not too durable, and the Magnus and Wet are too soft, should I go with a Kartel 98? Also I heard On3ps are heavy, is this true or did someone make that up. Wildcard CT 1.0s? They seem too stiff.

Summary

Durability: All seem durable except Edollos are questionable

Flex: Are they all to soft besides the Kartel 98 and how wold the width affect rails? (They are supposed to be 96 next year)
How soft really are Wets. How soft are all of them really? Which will let me get away with crappy landing?

Weight: Are ON3P skis heavy or is that bs?

Hight: Are vishnu gonna be too tall at 177cm?

Obviously pretty biased here. Our skis are indeed soft where you want them to be, but if landed properly they work just fine off jumps. I notice you said something about “getting away with shitty landings”. Not telling you how to ski, but at this stage in your progression this can be a dangerous mindset. Getting away with shitty landings as a habit in your younger years can potentially lead to serious injury in your later years, TRUST ME.

Basically what I’m getting at is, if you land properly on our skis, you’ll be just fine. It’s good to learn good habits. As far as the length, the 177 skis more like a traditional 171 as far as maneuverability due to the aggressive rocker with the stability of a 177.

You won’t go wrong with any of the skis you posted but as I am currently about to go get an MRI for my second major knee injury, I need to reiterate: DEVELOP GOOD LANDING HABITS

idk about the kartel but i have the magnus model and they are not soft. They are very stable on jumps and light for rails but CAN be playful when wanted as in you have to really try to initiate good flex/butter. fav ski ive ever ridden

On3ps have full sidewall so they will be heavier than cap skis, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem, still fairly light. Edollos have a much flexier tip than tail, so they won't be too soft for landing forward. The only things I'm worried about for dollos is the width and durability. Mags have more rocker than I'd like, feels unstable to me, but it makes it easy to butter while remaining poppy. No expierience with wets but I'm considering them, worried a bit about landing jumps but my park doesn't have any crazy huge jumps and they'd probably force me to fix my shitty landings anyway which is good. They're also cheaper than the other skis, and just as durable as on3ps, more durable than dollos.

Are you wanting a strictly park only ski? Or will this be your everyday driver for park and all mountain? That could make a difference in people's recommendations.

Disclainer: I know not much more than these skis intended applications and subtle construction differences but if you want more of an overall everywhere ski, I'd go with the kartel. I see your home Mt is Sunday River so it might be worthwhile for taking them elsewhere on the mountain. I've taken strickly park skis everywhere and while they hold up just fine, other skis work better. Go with the kartel.

Yes a park ski. There isn't much all mountain I can do even if I wanted because East = Ice + More Ice

Vishnu Wet is a sick option, definitely not the perfect east coast all mountain ski because they dont have a ton of effective edge but Ive never ridden a more playful or poppy ski, super easy to butter, pretty stable for how soft they are and really light so rotating on and off rails on them is a breeze, also as Vishnu posted above if you can land a jump decently you’ll have no problems (if you can’t you’ll learn quick, V’s dont really let you fake it). I dont think the height should be an issue, Im 5’7, a little heavier than you but I wish I went with the 183s instead of the 177s, vishnus ride super short.

If you really want to have a fun ski that can handle up to boot deep pow I would go Edollo. But if you are concerned about “being too flexable” I would go Kartel or Magnus because they are like in the 5-6 - 6-7 - 5-6 range but you are sacrificing pow ability. But it’s all a matter of preference if you like butter go Wets. In conclusion for what I heard of your situation I would go Kartel for stability.
