ON3P for freeride?

I assume you are in the RMFS league of IFSA. Bunch of kids like JC are on wren 108s this year. I competed on Jeffery 114s this whole season which treated me well. IMO I would get kartel 108s custom stiff flex in like a 181 or 186 (I’m 163ish cm tall). But that is just because I like the loose feeling allot of rocker gives me in comps. I feel like kids get into a lot of sketchy situations because their directional skis hook and can’t pivot as easily in a oh shit moment. Either option will work. If you were to get k108 get stiffer flex for sure

Between those two skis it would come down to pretty much your stance on the ski and then also your preferred line choices.

The wren is mounted further back the the kartel and obviously is more directional. Basically the wren will reward a more forward stance, more traditional style why the kartel will ski better for a more nuetral centered stance.

The next thing is about lines, do you look at the competition face and try to find the fastest route down it? Maybe 3 big hits moving rapidly between them with minimal traversing? Or are you looking at lines that have a bunch of smaller hits connected in creative ways with some spins thrown in or whatever.

The wren will work better for the first style while the kartel is better for the second, both will be suitable skis and I’m not saying that the kartel can’t go fast or the wren can’t spin but they have different strengths.

Iirc the Wrens are getting metal in them this coming year to make them even more chargy, might be worth waiting for that if that's what you're into. Also from what I've heard, freeride competitions are more about aggressive skiing than doing tricks but idk shit really. I think you wouldn't go wrong with any On3p ski but I'm not sure how strict these competitions are.
