To other east coast skiers, stop bitching about having Shite snow, small vertical, etc. Instead you should be building a mountain. get someone to haul dirt up mount snow during the summer and add an extra 6000 vertical, the season would be way longer, would only cost a couple billion dollars
we don't even need to build a mountain, we have some mountains with decent vertical relief. let's just take a decent sized mountain and blast the shit out of it with dynamite to make it steeper with cliff bands and shit. simple!
as for the lack of plentiful and soft snow... well the landings will be really steep so just get good okay?
We could drill through the earth to create another tectonic plate that goes all the way down the east coast and just let time do its thing. Eventually we can have a new mountain strip down the east coast.
You don't need to build up when you can just dig down. If you dig 1000ft at the base of a hill, you'll gain 1000ft of vert, it's that simple. Take action, if Trump can build a wall, we can dig a hole.

yeah ive never had any luck finding a picture which is kind of surprising. in reading up on it though, ive read that there's a tunnel built in there too (to access the top from before the lift was put in i guess?)

There is no lift to the top but there is a tunnel. It isn't accessible for skiers other than patrol. The top was blasted by the army corps of engineers so a weather station could be setup. There was a video of some people going through the tunnel I saw a few years ago but can't find it now.

Right I meant like the chairlift and yeah I've read up on it but unfortunately never seen a pre-blast pic
