Sego Bighorn 106

Super dope ski. Poppy, light and fun! Well made skis.

RykerLAnyone have anytime on the Sego bighorn 106? Only info I can find is the blister review. Trying to figure if they'd be worth the big CAD wallet hit.

I'm the Blister review, but feel free to hit me with any more specific questions. I actually put touring bindings on them, and used them as my daily touring ski for most of the winter. Pretty high on that ski!

Tried them at a demo day, super dope and chargy, never any chatter going fast on inconsistent crud and super quick to turn. If that's the kind of skiing you want to do, I don't think you could find anything much better.

I've got it pitted against the k2 marksman for my all mountain ski (bomb the park on some old kung fujas), I like the sounds of how soft the bighorn is, but that is stable enough to charge inconsistent snow. It definitely sounds like a ski for me but it's a tough call when the marksman is currently $400 (CAD) locally, while the sego I'd haveto wait for their new stock and it'd cost about $1100 (CAD).

I didn't like this ski at all. First thing when I rolled up to the demo tent they look at my 169 rossi slats and say "oh we better put you on the 180 bighorn so you have the same edge contact. Right there I'm like that's pretty long, and silly to have to size up so much to get the same performance, but okay let's see how this goes. First lap the edge contact is not even as good my Slats, tips liked to wander on the steeps, they were heavy cause they were huge, and felt sort of like ski blades due to how much taper and rocker in the tips and tails. Ski blades with tons of swing weight. Maybe they would've done better in softer conditions, I mostly tested them in semi crusty moguls with some soft on top, but I was far from impressed. I prefer a more traditionally shaped, driven from the tip, kind of ski though. If you like lots of effective edge traditional shaped skis I would steer clear.

Eh. It's a lot more capable than the Marksman, but not as soft and buttery. It takes more work to ski, but also rewards that with a lot more stability. I love mine, would be happy to use as an all-mountain ski at most resorts, but it's not a noodle by any means. The Marksman is dead easy to ski, like maybe the easiest ski I've ever been on, but it doesn't have much of a top end stability wise.

That's fair, I'm currently on my 169 kung fujas so they aren't they most chargey thing ever. I'd like something that can maneuver quickly for side hits but can still hit decent booters, cliffs and double blacks. So it's a pretty big toss up in 105-110 underfoot job skis.
