ON3P edge durability

Hey guys, So this upcoming season im looking into buying new set of whips, and I recently saw that on3p was making the magnus in a 102 size, and it instantly got me stoked. I currently ride the Armada B Dogs, and after 3 seasons of hard ripping, I didnt have 1 edge crack, which was crazy to me. I blew apart my underfoot edges on Icelantic da Nollies, Atomic infamous's and a few other skis. I wasnt sure how durable the edges were on on3p compared to Armadas and other solid brands. Other than the Magnus's, I thought about buying the 2018 EDOLLO's. Can anyone help me out with the durability of the ON3P's?

All edges will crack. If your edges don't crack, you're quite lucky. I wouldn't buy any ski expecting your edges to not crack, I would expect your edges to last just as long on either ski, it moreso depends on what happens while you ski vs what skis you have.

Major brands generally have the same edge thickness (2.5 x 2.5) including ON3P, Armada, Moment, Icelantic, Etc. Most edges will last the same amount of time no matter the company. Sometimes its the luck of the draw. Detuning will help preserve your edge life. Hitting rails generally will ruin your edges no matter the ski.

Pretty sure most major brands get their edges from a similar supplier. No difference unless thickness is different between skis. Both are fine.

ive had two pairs of armada and they both lasted >3 seasons of rail skiing

Magnuses will come with a park detune next year so that should help a ton with edge cracks

You can do this to any ski though. Every ski I've ever hit rails with have cracked and I've always detuned.

I'm not saying you can't detune any ski, however, most skis don't come detuned straight from the manufacturer, and frankly most people don't know how to properly detune a ski to prep it for rail damage. I got my hands on a factory detuned pair of kartels the other day and I can honestly say I have never been able detune my own skis as well as those kartels were detuned. Also, I never said a detuned ski won't get edge cracks, any ski will get edge cracks after enough use on rails, but edges definitely last longer on skis that have been properly detuned than skis that haven't.

i crack my edges after a week of hitting rails usually. it doesn't destroy the ski in any way though

Skied al dentes for 4 years in the park not one edge crack but also definitely heard a lot of good things about On3p durability. Either way your getting a durable and well made ski.
