in fact you are the dipshit. who the hell every said any thing about not trying them?? i have ridden the reactor bindings, my brother has them on his on his skis. he bought them not even a month ago and the heelpiece on both skis is so loose that it makes it tough to even step in. the whole setup just feels clunky and unreliable (even before that problem), not to mention being so goddamn heavy.

and as for the people that say ''just send them back to the company, they'll replace them.'', why the hell would you want to buy a binding that breaks so often? that's such a hassle. they've already built a reputation for being problematic so what's the point? just stick with another company that is more reliable. you people are so into thinking that it's ''cool'' or ''steezy'' to get stuff from all these new no-name companies, that you don't realize how much time you're wasting sending this shit back to the company and crying about how much it annoys you to do so. and progression? ha, progression is not a new company jumping into such a demanding market with a new product that functions so much diferently than any other like it. you start small. i want to see Line develop a customer base like Marker, Look/Rossi, and Salomon with a binding less radical (which is how each of those did it). then i might buy a new piece of technology from them when they've actually had enough experience to know what they're doing.

it doesnt take any time at all to warranty them. if i ever break them all i have to do is go to jibij and walk out 5 minutes later with new bindings. your a pussy, shut up

Ok well I happen to like my lines so im gonna outline all the shit that i think people overlook or simply ignore.

Durability Problems

Yes, the reactors to have a durrability problem. Some of these issues have to do with the binding not being set properly, some have to do with it just not being built rugged enough on its tracks. Check your the toe height adjustment on your bindings, if its set too high your toe can move up and down and make it even easier to rip off an already questionable toepiece. That said next years batch have a bit tougher teeth in the toe piece anyway (and im guessing heel aswell?).

Weight Problems

If you hold these bindings in your hand, they feel extramely heavy compared to most bindings on the market. If you ski these bindings they feel lighter than any binding on the market because all the weight of the binding is directly under the foot. If anything they could actualy use even more weight in the toe and heel in the form of tougher materials.

Restricted Flex

Unlike most plate oriented binding systems on the market, the line binding doesnt restrict the flex of the ski. It is suspened a few MM off it and allows for the most flex of any binding i have seen (I would say any binding but im not really sure if the tyrolia railflex can compare, or if im just missing an entire line of bindings somewhere).

Prereleasing

Get your bindings set properly, im not going to say you should have a shop tech do it because if you just read the instruction sheet you should be able to do it yourself. The toe adjustment on these bindings is very often neglected even if you get them set at a shop, check that and make sure its good. The forward pressure setting is also very important, most of the complaints i have seen with this binding have originated with 'well i tested my freinds and i popped out within 30 seconds'. Chances are when you tested your friends the bindings were not set properly to your boot, just because the heel clicks down doesnt mean the binding is fit correctly. Check the forward pressure on the front of the toe, make sure the little metal prong is within '.5mm-2.5mm of sticking out'. Meaning withing those perameters to the tip of the plastic prong next to it, not the front of the toepiece.

Screws Losening

Yeah it happens, use some of the blue locktite sparay stuff it seems to work the best, or just check them before you ride.

Warranty Issues

Lines warranty is very very good. If you have problems with them directly chances are no company would have warrantied your product. Some shops may give you shit but id advise that if they do for you to contact line and explain your situation. If you think the return time on the warranty is slow, just think about the return time for warantying your knees.



With all this said I have more confidence in my reactors now than i have in any other binding i have ridden (p12s,fks series, marker frees/races,salomons). My only complaint about them is the required lift for a technology like this to exist. Oh, also i dont work for line or anything im just a shopguy that owns the bindings. If you've ridden the bindings and broke them and now dont like them, i can completely understand your reasoning for it but id just be curious as to how many people dont like them because of some of the above problems that are easily solvable.

You are proving that you know nothing. Do some homework on Line. The aren't a new no name company. Just because you haven't heard of someone before doesn't mean that they don't exist. Line has been around for 10 years, the started with skiboards and quickly moved into twin tips. They were only a few months short of being the first company with a twin tip freestyle ski. Line is one of the reasons you have so many choices of twin tips today. They have proven that they market will be there for the skis we demand.

The binding is going to take some time to perfect as jsquared has already stated in other threads. If you knew anything about business, you would know that you can't enter a market and 'build a customer base' by offering the same thing as everything else. You will not succeed, there's no incentive for a customer to lose their loyalty to other brands and purchase your product.

Windows sucks as an operating system but the majority of the users on this site still buy and use Windows products, how do you explain that.

The mere fact that there is a thread about Line's bindings is a red light. Do you see any threads about Look/Rossi or Marker? Props to Line for trying, though. They'll eventually get it dialed.

The misinformation about Line tends to get annoying and I can't help but respond sometimes. They make great skis, the bindings are a work in progress.

The 4frnt binding is just a VIST. It's not a bad binding, there's just nothing inherently unique or safe about it. I would still ride a 4frnt binding over salomon or marker any day.

The binding you get from 4FRNT is NOT the same binding you would get if you bought a VIST. They have some unique features that are specifically made for them. Namely, A different, beefed up forward pressure mechanism, and a stonger metal-alloy heel plate. You also have the option of turning off the upwards release on the 4-12, and 6-14 (the 8-16 has no upwards release).

Actually, they did make changes to the VIST, but now VIST has integrated those same changes. So they are the same binding.

^NO, they didn't. I don't know where you're getting your information from, but that is absolutely not true. The changes 4FRNT made are exclusive to them.
