Hi, we are planning a trip to Copper Mountain and will be staying in Dillon. We usually bring out lunch and just leave our bag in the base lodge at our home mountain, no locker needed. Can I do the same at Copper or would I need to purchase a locker for the day, or would it be better to pay for parking and just tailgate? any info would be great. Thanks.

Hey man,
Copper is wicked fun, good choice. I’d highly recommend a tailgate, alpine lot is huge and the busses run super regularly from east-west base areas back to alpine. Bring some lawn chairs and kick it. As for staying in Dillon, summit has good deals but if you wanna go real cheap Leadville has some superstar dirtbag motels and the drive to copper would only be like 10 mins longer (and slightly more gorgeous, I might add). Have fun, definitely check out gustinos pizza at the base of copper for that 5$ slice and a beer deal if you forget your lunch!

I was just at Copper on the exact same trip. Even stayed in Dillon. I brought a bag with some sammies in it for me and my buddy and I left my bag at the top of the park all day. No one messed with it.
