Skiing Under the Chairlift

Thoughts? Opinions?

I fucking love it. Sure it's super embarrassing if you yardsale, but from my perspective it makes me want to send it even more knowing people are watching. There's nothing better than dropping a sick line or stomping a cliff in view of the chairlift for all to see. Even falling under the lift is hilarious sometimes. Maybe it's self righteous, but it's awesome imo. I sure enjoy watching someone slay the mountain while I'm riding up.

My brother on the other hand is a huge pussy and hates skiing under the chairlift for fear of falling in front of people.

IdahoeAt Schweitzer we got a pretty nice line under the chair that most the rippers are on when its a pow day and you can get to the line after most runs, and me and some friends rally the fuck out of it only for the purpose of doing massive cossacks and getting some cheers from the bros on the chair. makes my day when some crusty dudes start cheering.
hell ya bro I went for a three off the cornice right by the triple unload and over rotated almost to a 5 and tomahawked down the face. I still got cheers from the lift so it was all good!

I've never once been embarrassed falling, in any situation. Only feelings I have are relief that I didn't hurt myself, or pain if I did.

my local mountain moved there park under the lift this year which I'm fine with but one of my friends stopped skiing park because of the heckling and the pressure they where getting from the lift.

Bump because just saw a similar thread. Didn't realize this was mine when I searched for it.

Skiing under the lift is the bomb. Nothing better than a pow day where people are hooting and hollering and sending it, and from folks are yelling from the lifts going up. Absolute bliss.

I also do enjoy watching people slay it in the park from lifts even though I can't do shit.

Whoops I posted the new one, my bad. I tried searching for something like it and somehow missed this.

Hearing people hollering from the lift when you're sending is one of the best things in skiing. Everyone is just sharing the stoke.

the worst place to do this is at Squaw Valley because so many kids from the bay area go up the lift and heckle the shit out of you and they have a gorby gap the size of chads gap and their rental skis and they yell at you to hit the cliffs

I never ride directly under. Grease and oil drops from the cable/connections. People (like me) also drop snow off their equipment. DEATH FROM ABOVE.
