Best bindings

Ik i just posted earlier about this..but what would be the best bindings out thhere for the arv 86, I am extremely lightweight just looking for durability/ lightweight, Cheers

Attack 13 is the lightest binding considered to be a quality unit around these here parts. You'll find more weight savings on attack 11 and marker squire but those bindings both have serious flaws, especially for park.

Im currently thinking about Pivot 12s? Ps my DIN is 4.. Yes 4 Although i am most likely gonna turn it up 1-2

Attacks din range 4-13
So you're good there I guess.

You mentioned lightweight and durability as your principle concerns, attacks are lighter, especially the first generation less difference in the attack2 but still lighter I believe.

You'll do great witheither binding.

If you ride on a din of 4 do not get a binding which starts at 4. You want to be in the mid range of the binding so a 10 din binding is probabaly your best bet. I was working on a ski with a pivot 13 on and the kid had them set to 4 and the din adjusted would not stay at 4. There was so little pressure you could turn it by hand. Don't ride a binding at the very min go for somthing with a range more suited to where your at.

I agree with what your saying, but If I do end up going up 1-2 I think the pivots would work good, but thats just me

Yes they would but so would a 10 or 11 din binding and they would also work if you don't end up having to increase your din where as a 12 or 13 would not.

If you can ride ride on a din of 4 then honestly you will be absolutely fine on a 10-11 din binding.

I have a pair of squire bindings. I like everything about them although if there was one thing I could change it'd be the heel piece because it's so tall and it's hard to get out of unlike any of the attack series bindings.

This is a completely serious question: how small does one have to be to ride their dins at 4? I recently bought my son(7) a set of skis (Volkl Step jr 128) and was worried the marker fastrak 4.5 that came with wasn't going to be enough binding for him...did some playing with a din calculator and he'll be just fine for the two years I'll hope he can use the skis but I had to check.

I'm assuming your son wants to do park skiing since you got him Volkl steps
As long as he isn't going off of anything massive he'll most likely be fine. Im a little over twice his age and I only need to have my Din at 7. Also, he probably won't have those skis for too long. I suggest going with those marker free 8 once he gets bigger or you can just get a set of free tens early and find out if he wants to continue park skiing. If he does then you might want something a little more burly. I might be getting too ahead of myself because of his age but basically, all I'm saying is you definitely won't need something super burly like look pivots unless you want him to use a pair of those for the rest of his life because I swear those are indestructible.

How on earth do you guys have your dins so low? I had mine at like 6 or 7 when I was probably 100 pounds and am currently 155 with my dins at 12 and still have occasional unplanned ejection, and the only reason I don't go higher is cause I'm afraid of blowing out my knees.

Don't land back seat and if you fall back while spinning don't try to hold yourself up. Also don't skip leg day.

I've been talking about little kids, even set at like 2 they rarely lose skis on falls, the skis are not very long and they don't provide a lot of inertia due to their ''low stack height''

I run mine at 10 on attack 13 at ~140-145lbs, 5'7'' 295 bsl, I don't really ski park and only eject when I fall hard.

i can agree with the support for tyrolias. i have a few skis mounted up with them since switch from my fks. I really prefer them.

IDK I'm 6'1"/185 at 7 DIN on K2 Poacher 184 w/ GriffonIDs this season. I've literally never ejected them granted the snow is fluffy here and I won't slide rails on new-ish skis. Either way I'd rather sprain a wrist or thumb or something falling vs. a knee ligament.

My buddy has a major issue with attacks: slush will pack info the toepeice if we’re hiking rails and it’s so damn hard to get out. You can’t click on properly when this happens. And it’s super common. Design is definitely poor, especially since it’s more of a park binding.

I have Pivot 12s and I absolutely love them. I’ve never had them release when they didn’t need to and they have always released when I did need them to. Only concern is the brakes. Once they get too bent, it’s pretty bad because you can’t just change the brake... you have to change the whole heelpeice. The little black part that makes contact with your heel boot sole broke off, and my skis were unskiable until I got it fixed, because the brakes would not deploy and were bent badly sideways.

Might wanna check your forward pressure and make sure your boot isn't worn down and not fitting the heelpiece and/or toepiece properly. I'm 160 riding pivot 14's at 8 din, and I only eject when I need too.

Lol you're 155 with dins at 12? Do you go 100mph? How are your knees? Something sounds wack there. I'm 6'1" 185 and mine are at 7. Never had an early release and they always release when I need them too. They've actually stayed on plenty of times when I would have expected them to fall off when falling.

Idk the bigger you go and the faster you spin puts more force on your bindings. I’d be willing to bet that no one over 150lb has ever landed a triple with their dins below 10

I'd agree with that, but your original predicament still sounds a little off to me. Do you leave your dins cranked during the offseason? They should be set to a little below your bindings lowest din option all summer, or else the spring wears out and effectively weakens the bindings clamping power.
