HorstGroupWe’ve been skiing in Macedonia and Bulgaria and about to head north and want to ski where they have parks from now on. Does anyone know of anywhere that does?
JohnnyDopeKopaonik, Serbia has a small park and It's a beautiful mountain overall, just kind of small but you should be more than good for couple of days. Just got some fresh snow yesterday too... You could definitely stop by and check it out, It's not overcrowded this time in season.
If you decide to stop by, let me know I can hook you up with some cheap accommodation and give you more info...
HorstGroupOh that’s awesome.. were gunna head to Serbia today and try make our way to kopaonik tomorrow.. more info would be great, its quite hard to get public transport to this place
JohnnyDopeGetting there is no big deal, I just need to know how will you be traveling(how and when exactly will you be arriving to Serbia) Reason I'm asking is so I could look up for buss schedule from wherever you are coming from, but no worries there is pretty much a ride from anywhere in Serbia to the mountain since it's basically our major resort.
I assume you don't have a car since you are asking about public transport...How many of you are traveling? How many days do you plan to stay? If you can travel up to Kragujevac or Belgrade I could hook you up wit a mini bus that will bring you guys up for cheap, maybe like 20-25 euros per person.
Are you picky regarding the accommodation? I could also probably hook you up with some dirt cheap beds for like 20e per night, my buddies that are local park crew have a big house that they sometimes rent to cool peeps if all of them are not there at the same time. They could also show you around the park. I don't know what are you used to, but don't have hight expectations it's nothing fancy - one big air jump, couple of more smaller ones, a few small like quarter pipes not really sure how those are called, and 5-6 boxes and rails.
Also, do you guys bring your own gear or rent? If you are renting, go to Planet Bike rental. They are pretty much only decent freestyle rental on the mountain, with reasonable prices.
There are 2 supermarkets, Idea and Maxi with same prices like anywhere in the country. Best food is in https://www.facebook.com/thepubkopaonik/ ,and also the best place to go out at night...
You're really lucky, forecast shows fresh snow for the next 4-5 days so you will find some powder as well!
If I hopefully get paid my paycheck by Friday, I'll probably be on the mountain Saturday morning for a day if you are still around...
http://www.eng.infokop.net, here's some useful mountain info, let me know if you need anything else.
