Replying to Conditions in Utah? PNW?

Looking at a vacation in two weeks now that work is calming down. Was looking to fly into SLC or seattle. Sister is in seattle, so wouldn't have to rent a car, but PNW weather is temperamental this time of year. We were looking at Crystal Mountain.

But lodging between SLC and Alta/ Brighton/ Solitude is really reasonable, so renting a car would be easier. And the resorts are classic, but not sure about snow conditions.
