.FryI’m legit planning to head out there to work on the mountain this summer. I’m planning to camp in a tent/live out of my car all summer. Going to be my first summer away from home, hopefully I can pull it off. Driving out from NH.
zstetson11Convoying to hood from Colorado end of April beginning of May and plan on staying for at least two weeks. I have only been to Portland OR but never the hood area. Wondering if there are some sweet spots to camp, people looking for temp roommates, or dope hostels. Also potentially looking for a job if any one knows of anywhere hiring (coaching, digging, painting, building, cleaning, misc) any info will help thanks guys!
DeepskierI was hoping to do the same, as always Windells will never hire a 17-year-old so anyone know if timberline would hire a 17 year old, hard worker and not afraid of manual labor.
Govygen_gourmetKid you don't want to go to Govy to work and stay, yeah skiing is great.. and yeah everyone should experience summer skiing on the Palmer at least once in their life.. but at 17 you have more to look forward to in life. Govy is a great place but it has a way of trapping everyone.. winters get miserable there... most don't last there and they move back to the streets in Portland or back into moms basement. If you plan to move to work on Govy you better show the people you work for.. that you don't plan on staying long... OR you have the potential to grow. Other than that all the places on Hood have seen it all, and they know all the tricks. They will either tell you to fuck off initially (this will be doing you a favor) .. or they will take you in and then spit you out once the off season hits. This is unless you can show your worth.. and hard work alone doesn't cut it these days.
