I hate contests. Why do I show up, pay hard earn cash and scare myself on top of this course? Then, I need to safely huck on command and put down a run at your skiing ability. Conditions suck, I am tired... but there I was; On top of the course, ready to go.
For some reason, the second you chose to drop in; that feeling vanishes and the movie plays out until you wake up at the bottom and you didn't crash. People are cheering and the judges are focused on their job. The feeling of accomplishment fades as fast as it enters the mind and the feeling of dread overtakes you for the second run.
I am so scared again. My muscles shake and ache as I peer over the edge to spot a landing. Cant see shit... But it looked good from the bottom. Before commiting to the starter, I utter the words: "Im so scared of this doing a 360 on a cliff, never done it before". A voice told me people were landing it all day... and dropped in.
The movie plays again. I wake up after feeling that landing. Forgot press record on the camera...
At the awards, my name was called for second place.
God I love contests.

Your Turn NS, Id like to hear what is going through your mind before and after a run.
Post a contest story (or not) and post a 1st person of your run. It doesnt have to be awesome, but it has to be an experience. Can be short or long, but please put in a clip or 2.
