Poles or no Poles?

What are your opinions I
ve never skied with poles until this year and I seem like both. Is there an pros or cons of it?

I personally like the style of poles more. But I ski without poles when I'm learning new tricks because they can get in the way sometimes.

I felt weird with poles at first but now I feel naked without them.

I feel like poles help my balance, plus pole plant threes are insanely fun.

A lot of people flail their arms a lot more when they ski without poles. I've noticed a lot of younger kids skiing without poles and it definitely has a negative impact on their style.

I feel that if you are already a competent skier then poles will improve your style and give you more freedom. But for quite a few riders, mainly kids, poles seem to exacerbate the lack of control that they already have (more arm waving etc).

Might be just me, but for some reason whenever I ski without poles it becomes much harder to hit rails. I think that the poles help me balance.

Both, depends on the day really, there are pros and cons on either side. Might also come down to you as an individual or what "type" of day you're having, a learning day, filming day, a day where you just don't want poles, a day that requires more balance or some other specific need for poles or comfort level.

A lot of the time I find myself skiing with my poles in one hand for whatever reason, that's an interesting style.

I use poles unless i'm hiking a rail, or focusing on a grab.

poles on a pow day or on a rails day unless im skiing wide skis. no poles for jumpy days cause i cant grab with them cause im bad

Honestly depends on the day for me as well. You kinda have to ski with poles one day, without em the next, and then see what works for you in what situation.

If you're skiing park, who really cares..... Your preference imo. But skiing all mountain is 100% necessary especially on advanced and expert terrain. Pole plants for life

I use poles all the time because when I learnt to ski park, everyone told me that I shouldnt use them so I can grab easier, but I grab fine with them so I use them, If I am jibbing around and not really sending it I leave them home because them I can text an shit. And I dont need to hold them on the lift
