Getting tobacco smell out of a car

Borrowed my dads truck 2 days ago and ran into a friend at the dollar store parking lot, I rolled the window down to talk and while he smoked while we talked. A lot of the smoke blew into the cab and now the truck smells like cigarettes. I had no idea that the smell could get absorbed that fast. If my dad comes back and it still smells I'm fucked, he'll think I was smoking in it, help me out NS

Drive around with the windows down, even if its cold as fuck. Blast the heat and heated seats if you have. Bundle up. That's about it. Some febreeze helps, but circulating the air is really good. That said cig smoke sticks like a motherfucker.

Just tell your father the truth that you smoke cigs and this story about your friend is bullshit. That's a better option. The truth will set you free.

You're looking at this the wrong way. Instead of getting rid of the smoke smell (really hard), replace it with a different smell. For example, take a shit on the dash, leave the truck in the hot sun for a day with the windows closed, and your dad will never even think about cigarettes.

Windows down > Blast AC > Drive to Target > Purchase Ozium > Spray Cab > Drive Home Blasting AC > Spray more ozium > windows up

At most car parts store they have ozium. Spray that. Then something strong like axe. Roll down windows and repeat.

But unless you actually smoked in the car or he was blowing it in how did it get that bad? I'll have a dart or two on the hill then go drive home. Car doesn't smell at all.

Vacuum any ash out for sure, and either clean the interior with detailing shit that smells good, or leave the windows down a bit overnight and put a dank air freshener in there.

Wipe everything down to get the ash off it. Pine tree on the rearview, in the sun with the windows sealed and the heat on if you want the air freshener smell to permeate everything.

I don't know, I should have asked him to move so it wasn't all blowing in since I hate the smell anyways, but I'm not a confrontational person

take the sheets that are used with cloths in a dryer to make it smell better and put those everywhere

Tie a zip tie around the "trigger" of a full can of febreeze, throw it in the truck like a grenade and close the door and leave it overnight as possible.

Or use an actual grenade.


In high school I used to hotbox the fuck out of my car and just drive on the highway with the windows down. Probably reeked but my mom never really was in my car and when I took my car skiing with my dad he probably noticed but never said anything.

Just be honest, you were smoking a few packs a day in this sucker and hotboxing the fuck outta it. Help us to help you. No car ever smelled from a cigarette or two, especially from someone outside. Roll the windows down and buy some hanging air fresheners if that's the case, but I suspect it wasn't. Cigs r nasty.

Blast the AC who cares how cold it is. Keep all of the windows down. Also go get fast food in the car to mask the smell of smoke that usually works

pour gasoline on the seats and light it with a match. the extreme heat actually neutralizes the smell of ash to the point where you can't smell cigarette smoke anymore.
