Parks to visit near Denver

So me and some friends are looking to visit some kind of state or national park tommorow for a day trip, and were thinking about Lower Beaver Park cause it looks like it has some dope waterfalls and shit but I'm not even sure if its open right now. And suggestions?

Rocky Mountain is cool, gets pretty busy on the weekends though but definitely worth checking out. It's probably 1.5 hours from Denver and you can swing through boulder on your way up
