So I got into park around last year and I have progressed a lot. The only issue I'm having is rails. I seem to be slipping out a lot, sliding off early, or I go over the bars and hit my ribs on the rail. This is mainly when I'm hitting harder features.

Anyone have any exercises or any way I can improve my balance on rails? Help would really be appreciated.

Also on my 270s out I'm having a lot of trouble being consistant. Help on that would be appreciated too.

Rollerblade, balance on curbs and stuff, bosu ball exercises, skateboard.

The best thing you can do is just to keep hitting rails though and look toward the end of the rail

I find that putting your dominant foot forwards when sliding rails helps you to keep your weight centered.

Also, some people like to file their edges so they don't catch on rails. You might want to test that out too.

I've already detuned my edge under foot but thanks for the suggestions.

Personally I dont like to detune, but that doesn't have a huge effect anyway just preference, what is important is to balance on the rail the same way you balance on the snow, centered and stable. As far as practice try to slide rails and boxes as slow as possible and that will help your technique for the takeoff and the actual slide
When I was learning that helped a ton

The problem I have with going slow is getting on the rail. Especially when is decently off the ground or has a gap onto it. Any tips for that?

Step on with your back foot first then front kinda like a ripstick then as you get better/faster you can jump evenly with your feet
