hi there
i bought k2 marksman in my local shop, so i noticed that the base of the ski is different it has yellow color instead of black etc. and cant find similar base on internet. if somoene will help me im just wondering why it has different base

Some brands like K2, Volkl, Line, etc. use what they call a "swap base" on some of their skis. Basically, all the shapes that make up the graphic of the base get cut out of large sheets of base material, and rather than just throwing out the scraps, they use the matching "leftover" pieces to put together a base of the opposite colour scheme.

Swap base, as Lpower said its just how they use leftover material instead of completely getting rid of it. On the last year of the pettitor they marketed the swap base for people who didn't want the base color as their friends. Don't know if that makes a difference but I remember seeing it on their site.
