What athlete of any sport has the most worlds firsts?

I'm thinking probably Ryan williams or maybe Rhodney Mullen overall. In skiing it's hard to say, but people like Will Wesson, Magnus, and Jesper Tjader are always innovating and doing new stuff, plus then people who were around in the beginning of the sport when a lot of rail tricks hadn't been done yet.

I know you're asking about quantity, but this got me thinking. I feel like if any sport respects a "first" most, it's climbing. There are a few climbers that have a fair amount of firsts under their belt that carry much more prestige than, say, someone who did a bunch of rail tricks for the first time on skis. Ex. Alex Honnold bagging the first freesolos on El Cap and Half Dome = badass AF.

This is such a good point. Climbing a wall or figuring out a boulder problem for the first time is huge because every one is different and there is no established route. Just you trying to crack the puzzle.

Ryan Williams is definitely up there. Nicholi Rogatkin had quite a few bangers too, tons of cashroll variations, 1440s, twisters on a DH bike, etc.

Depends how specific you get.

Someone like Greztky has first to 2000 points, first to 2001, first to 2002, etc etc for a ton of different stats. A couple thousand firsts for sure.

I not the biggest Magnus fan, but don't underestimate his skill. Yes most of the time he is just dicking around and looks ridiculous, but when he gets serious to film, he is really fucking good

Yeah, half the shit I see him do makes me kind of hate him, then he'll drop something legit and remind everyone he knows what the fuck is up.
