Srs advice only, are there any other bindings as good as look pivots and perhaps more lightweight? I'm thinking of just spending that extra cash and picking up the pivot 12s

KENDOZERThere was a recall recently on pivots I heard, the heel piece would break, had it happen to a couple friends. They're solid bindings otherwise for sure. I've had luck with attack 13s, they're light and cheap, only issues are brakes bending but that happens with all bindings i suppose
lpowerI don't mind pivots on a park ski because of their durability and elastic travel, but on most other skis I tend to prefer the Marker Griffon/Jester platform. Simple and reliable, a little beefier than the attack.
teamSESHWhat makes you day Griffons over Attacks? I’ve had both and I find the Attack 13s to be far superior. Not saying the Griffons are bad, just that the Attacks are better (especially for the price).
No experience with Jesters personally but I hear the same thing.
.nastyAttacks over any marker binding all day. Not even comparable really, better durability with the same low weight. Also the aforementioned lowest stack height.
Rum_HamStepping into griffons in powder also sucks compared to attacks or sths. Even pivots are easier because you can lift up on the heel
lpowerThe jester is now a sole ID binding, so it can accommodate more sole heights. Maybe unimportant to some people, but important to me. And yes, there is an attack AT with a more adjustable toe height, but you lose the low stack height with the AT version, and the low stack height is one of the only features that really makes the attack unique. For me, another difference is the heal pieces. I will admit, it is a lot harder to step into a griffon/jester because it is a 2 piece heal as apposed to the 3 piece heal in the attack, but this also translates into longer forward elastic travel. Harder to get in, but harder to pop out early. When it comes to alpine bindings, I'm not concerned with weight at all. If you are, attacks are lighter. Overall, I just find the griffon/jester platform to be a little more confidence inspiring, as the attacks are very plasticky, and I tend to feel movement in the toe piece of the attacks, which can be a little scary. In my jesters, I feel secure and have not had an issue with pre-releases or late releases.

KravtZHave attacks on most of my skis. LOVE them. Never have had any issues with them. Pivots are great I just don't see the point of spending $500 on a pair of bindings.
TRVP_ANGELupdate: just bought new skis and mounted attack 11s on (only $170 canadian compared against $260 pivots, feelsgoodman) forgot how easy it is to put on and take off bindings since ive skiid pivots my whole life. lightweight and my bootsfeels really snug in the bindings

ZypherIsnt attack 11 the kids version... Doesn't matter too much though, If you like the bindings thats all that matters. I have an even mix of attacks and pivots and honestly, like both for different reasons. Cant go wrong with either.
TRVP_ANGELi never go beyond 9 din anyways so i dont think i need the 13s.

teamSESHLike someone else said the heel is a 3 piece instead of a 2 piece on the 13s. Also you can get Attack 13s just as cheap if you shop around so I don’t know why you would get 11s.
mystery3$170 CAD is like $130 USD right now, last autumn you could find attack 13s (2016/17 models I think) for that but I haven't seen any good sales on the new ones. Have a link?
I put the 11s on my wife's skis and they're working out really well. Her din is set at 7 rn I think. They're certainly light even compared to the 13s.
teamSESH$130 USD with free shipping and they’re from Canada. They say Head but they sent me the Tyrolia model. Doesn’t matter either way because they’re the same thing. I bought K2 Domains and Attack 13s from them. Super fast shipping (5 days to Wisconsin in the USA).

This is the bundle I bought and I’m super happy for the price. I’m starting to relearn to ski after 5 years off and relearning rails means breaking shit so I wanted the cheapest not shit park set up possible. Honestly I think I did good finding these.

teamSESHLet me know if you find a better price though because I’m looking to also buy some all mountain skis that I won’t be doing rails on.
TRVP_ANGELshit, I didn't know that, the store's attack 13s were more expensive and shopping locally in my city, the prices are about the same. Will keep in mind in the future. What does a 3 piece provide over 2 piece?
mystery3Edit: a quick glance is showing weight gains on both the 11 and 13 for the 2018 models, it's not easy to find the weights or dicypher if brake weight is included though.
