i think the best compromise is a mix of both. I love seeing goofy skier interactions. Often alot of pure ski edits could greatly benefit from throwing in some non-skiing interactions for entertainment. Something like this

Here is an example of an edit that could have been much more interesting. Skiing an filming was cool, and sweet scenery, but overall it got bland real quick- while watching it I was thinking how much i would love to see them building the track and other b-roll stuff of them thinking about tricks.

Filming fisheye is the most fun way to film by 10 fold, even if it doesn't look as good as glidecam (which i think it does) its 1000times more fun to shoot and more practical

Pov is cool for 15 seconds before it becomes hard to watch. Gopros can't film anything 10ft away from them

yeah. really couldn't bare watching a 10 min video of nick goepper only hitting jumps. the best movies are packed with creativity and style. Like Bdog's TEMPO.

The low angle shot of the rail where they pull out as the skier approaches, then push into the rail as the skier comes off. It looks stupid, it's usually choppy as fuck, and I can't watch more than 20 seconds of an edit if that's the only way it's filmed.

It doesn't look raw to me, it looks like somebody gave my grandma a cell phone from 2006, and she hasn't had enough wine so her hands are shaking and nearly dropping the phone.

I totally get that, I just get super distracted and can’t focus on the skiing. Idk that’s just me, I defiantly understand the appeal.

Using slow mo bad, FISHEYE, doesn't flow, cuts straight into skiing (no intro), basic intros that everyone uses, and when everything is shot from the same angle.
