Yes. All VR parks run flags. Idk about the ones in the midwest but I'm guessing they do as well. Personally I like it better than dye. Dye is alright for comps when you have to run it, but it melts out the snow and eats your corners.

Maybe 50% IT's a mix between dye and flags. Most of the bigger parks run flags or clean. Some of the smaller medium ones dye. Not many places mark knuckles out side of comps though. That's really rare.

But a good amount of resorts have something on the takeoffs. Idk that it's necessary, as I've never had a problem on clean white takeoffs, but it does look nice and it's a free branding opportunity so I'm keen on it.

Kind of like the stencil on rails. You see the flags and you're like "Oh that's jumps at______" even if you aren't familiar with the park.

Idk, personally I don't think it's necessary. One of the bigger east coast parks I used to ride regularly doesn't mark takeoffs, even their 65-70 footers in their xl park. For the most park if I'm unable to see well enough to know where the takeoff ends, I'm sure as fuck not hitting jumps that big anyway.

Also if visibility is super fucked lot of resorts will close off the jumps completely. At that point marking the knuckle and landing is as important or more than takeoff, and nobody marks knuckles outside of comps.

It's just preference or policy if it's a resort chain.

I don't think Seven Springs ever uses dye. They sure like flags on everything though. I don't think marking take offs is worth doing.

Helps with wind, seeing the end, and it's free marketing for the resort. I def think it's worth doing. If you see a pic with a 7springs flag you know what resort that jump was at.
