milk_manThis is actually genius. You had us all expecting something well and thought out and you gave us that, kind of exactly like what swaney did. Good job op
TRVP_ANGELElizabeth is the greatest halfpipe skier alive. You could even say she’s the Sarah Bork of our generation. She is not just another technical flips and rotation skier, she is a complete masterpiece. She is not someone that is being controlled by FIS qualification systems. Swaney is singlehandedly one of the most innovative and unique athlete of this decade. She is a style genius, her jumps are experimental, innovative, unique, she isn’t afraid to experiment, she is constantly evolving and changing her style. Liz, from the beginning, has always pushed boundaries and has continued to make progressive leaps that others could only hope to imitate. Her straight airs are her instruments. She wants you to look beyond just the lip of the pipe. They are there just to complement her style, they are an application of her whole as a vehicle of human expression rather than a medium for judges scoring and competition. Her demo reels and weather anchor segments are something that no one else is doing. Swaney obviously isn’t a Maggie Voilin/Burmansson type of skiier with outstanding technical abilities but she still manages to ski better than them by far. Her qualification runs in world cups are an extremely introspective and personal feat of accomplishment. It allows you to better understand the perspective and emotions of a young liz. Her influence has become a bridge for white youth to enjoy the art of the outdoor life and empathize with the likes of liz and that is what is so wonderful about skiing. We are able to see who she really is and understand her. Her post run signature wave and giddy excitement shows that she is a surprisingly soft-spoken and confident young woman and it gives you all the more reason to care about her. There was no Elizabeth Swaney before Elizabeth Swaney. She is not emulating anyone, she isn’t trying to be anyone. She has no influences. When her interview with cnbc came out of nowhere, everyone loved it because no-one has ever seen someone with that courage to speak out. She has accomplished so much at such a young age, can you imagine what her skiing is going to be like in 5 years?
