3maniaCover of Jerrymag = free skis, goggles, poles, outerwear, pass. I'm looking forward to skiing 200 days this season, just like every other one. And where can I get this 32 yo body?

SkiBum.Lol, this dude just sent me a private message to tell me how expensive his skis and jacket are and how good of a skier he is.
Big_MtnFree skis doesn’t mean you’re pro, buddy. Getting paid 10k a year doesn’t mean you’re pro (but you haven’t claimed that yet, so I doubt it ever got to that). I don’t think you realize nobody gives a shit if you’re a washed up “pro” or not. The only person that gives a shit about your cover of jerrymag from 12 years ago is the dentist on TGR forums who has 4 pairs of DPS skis and only skis 10 days a year.
3manianever said I was pro. Unless you call coaches pros.

benjinyclooks like Mountain Collective raised 2018/19 to $409 (last year was $399)
no Telluride
JWillySkeezUtah got the short straw on this one. I was hoping I would be able to get Alta/Bird on this so I can ski them and travel although eheath made a good point about revenue loss its like 1200 for an alta/bird so this would be a huge hit to them.
PBraunsteinman, if you live in CA or CO, this is a pretty solid pass (especially CA).. but they blew it by not at least putting deer valley unlimited at least on the $900 pass.. no one from Utah is going to buy this. (I only mention deer valley because Alterra bought them last year, so I would have assumed it was going to be unlimited access.)
eheathSorta.
The way this shit works is that the resorts negotiated these pass deals. DV probably only did 7 days because their pass is $2000, same with Jackson, alta/bird is like 1600 or something. These would be huge revenue losses for those resorts so they only agreed to a certain amount of days. Plus, these resorts don't need some big combo pass, theyre doing quite well on their own, maybe in the future it will change, but they didn't fuck anything up by any measure.

mystery3Back to the pass...does anyone have experience at Banff/Lake Louise/Norquay? I need to start research for spring 2019.
.Dadsunshine has a fantastic park. the rest of the mountain is a little flat but there are a few gems to be found here. lake louise is considered world class for a reason. the back side is especially fun with lots of natural hits and plenty of trees if you get caught in flat light. And norquay well.... it's not good for much except night skiing and messing around.
trevorschuAnyone else fucking pissed about IKON? Here at Stratton, an unlimited season pass for my age group (18-29) was $350 for this season. Now with IKON next year, if I want unlimited I have to do the $900 IKON, which is absurd for the average person who isn't going to be able to afford going out west to take advantage of the other places. My other option is the Select, which is only Stratton and was bumped up to $450 and has 10 blackout dates, so more money for less skiing. God I fucking hate Alterra. Fuck this

freeskibum82I agree with you. I have been buying their sunday season pass for like 10 years since its my only day off. Now i need to pay double to ski the same. Im hoping they come to their senses after seeing how much negative response they got over social media the last two days. IKON pass sucks for us on the east coast. If it included Mt Snow and somewhere with night skiing like Jiminy Peak i would have considered it. Looks like ill be leveraging my shop tickets next season and will not be frequenting stratton anymore.
theabortionatorIt's one of those things though, with that volume of people nothing will work for everyone. I think it will get to the point where there is a localized pass like the epic local. I think stowe got added to the epic local actually but could be wrong. But if they buy more resorts in the east those will be a thing.
freeskibum82I think the point here is the options on the pass for the east are limited and a mountain that use to have a bunch of pass options just lumped them all into one. If the mountain collective went away and Ikon merged with that it would be a great buy for us East Coast people.
Yes, people bitch i understand that, its human nature to resist change. The flip side is if they dont sell as many passes this season that will speak louder than words in social media. I, and im sure im not alone here, am already researching my options and have put stratton's select pass as the last option if it needs to come to that. Their terrain is not the most challenging and I dont own property there forcing my hand so it'll come down to value most and that is a decision I have to make, even if that means i end up spending more on Mt Snow via the MC pass or even just getting the Gore pass just to make a statement with my wallet to stratton that i didnt just cave and buy into their new structure for season passes. I dont NEED to buy passes for reasons but still purchase one out of convenience and support of the industry that has given so much to me already. I just find it hard to swallow the extremely elevated cost.
theabortionatorI feel you. I'm not saying you're bitching just to bitch, but I do think they will add mountains and better options. It says that epic added stowe to the local options which is pretty big. They're competing to icon will have to offer more riding or a cheaper option. It's the first year of the pass though so I think it'll be what it is for this year, and we'll see for the next.
Mt snow has some good deals. Idk what gore has these days. Full season has gotta be over 700 though. I know they had a teen deal that was like $350 for a while though. Maybe if you get a gore only you get a deal.
Idk. They'll add stuff though. Epic pass broke into the east coast market, icon is following Can't expect it all to settle on the first season

yhprum1720So as a MAX Pass holder from New England, where do I go now?
MAX Pass seemed to be by far the best option for the Ice Coast. Now that it's gone, which pass should I get for next season?
I'm from MA, usually find myself in NH for day trips and VT/ME for weekend trips.
japanadaanyone know what the blackout dates are?
japanadaanyone know what the blackout dates are?
freeskibum82The usual. Christmas week, MLK weekend, President's weekend. Thats it.
SkiBum.I don't see Front Rangers making the extra slog over that pass to get up there. They will stick to Winter Park and Copper unless they decide to be Epic along I-70.
Also steamboat has one of the largest uphill capacity in the country. You guys can push like 34,000/hr. So plenty of room for more
3maniaWell dipshit, I guess you were wrong cuz we just got a new gondola to address the very issue i was talking about. You want to tell me more about how great our uphill capacity is? Because i think they just spent about $10 million dollars to prove me correct. I'll accept your apology in writhing.

3maniaNot sure, I'll let you know when i get back from Argentina in a month.
Craw_DaddyAren't you that dude who posts videos of yourself doing a bunch of unnecessary pole plants down groomers on r/skiing all the time?
https://www.reddit.com/r/skiing/comments/crrtlk/that_dude_liked_it/
your vids are always good for a laugh but maybe calm down with the shit talking cause you ski like a fuckin goober.
3maniaGroomers? You can't tell groomed from bumps, newbe? I'm sure I've forgotten more about skiing than you'll ever know.

BiffbarfThat was sick dude. I see the gnar terrain at steepboat has really polished your skills over the years.
3maniayou fools are hilarious, I always look to see if you have any photos/videos of yourself skiing. Never anything. Just a bunch of keyboard whiners trying to sound hard. Also this machine runs on hate, so bring it on, I'll use it tomorrow in the park. Cuz i'm skiing, now.
BiffbarfSo you're sayin I should upload a vid of me knucklin' a 3 when suckin myself off and sayin I'm pro
