overuse of the "search" reply

ok, i'm kinda sick of all the kids that just reply to people with 'use the search bar' or they copy what J.D._May does and just post the screen capture of the search bar. since when were all you guys too busy to just answer someones question? i mean it was kinda novel at first, but now everyone overuses it.

I hardly use the search bar cuz it's a pain in the ass.

Plus, if there's one thing that annoys me more and a question that can be easily answered, it's bringing back an old dead thread.

yeah see these dumb asses like that guy up there is the problem. he's just stupid. guys like him are the ones who screw up the thing JD made up. like, he called me a noob, and i really don't even care, but he's just such a dumb ass i have to say it. my member number is about half as high as his, and he called me a noob.

Let's just turn this into a competition of who's been here the longest..

Anyway, while 'use the search tool' might be used too often, it also gets annoying to read the same thread over and over again when the person who created it could have just as easily done a quick search to find what they were looking for. It all comes down to being lazy on both sides.

what's wrong with searching for stuff? I look up members and search for things in the forum (such as songs from ski movies) all the time. It's pretty usefull if you know exactly what you're looking for.

no yeah that's totally right. i use the search bar all the time, too. i just kinda get irritated when people are asking for a little help, that would be easy to give, by the way, and some people just give them some remark about how they are dumb for not already knowing or finding it already.

fact is, its entertaining for some to just shut down and otherwise insult whoever started the thread, and since you will never meet the person you are insulting, then its completely gratuitous...
but it is as someone said a big part of laziness on both sides: you should think wether someone might have already asked what you asked and already gotten an answer and looked a bit. but then the guys who decide to be stubborn and not answer a simple question are just being lazy aswell, or as veterans are exasperated at the same stinkin thread showing up...
we just need more love.

if it's an opinion question, then I liek to read new opinions and hear new points. But if its a questions like, 'what are the fugitives like?' or 'what is the song in emil's part in High5?' then yes, use the searchbar. But if it is a stupid question, I just don't answer them, they usually go away in a few hours anyways. Posting 'use the search bar is stupid'.
